Could the new gloves (the ones that form the leprechaun) have been the cause of all the turnovers on Saturday (minus a few badly thrown INT's)? I mean, I know it comes down to the players possession of the ball but just a curious thought that crossed my mind as I was trying to think of what went wrong. Remember the green jerseys a few seasons ago?? lol

I never use gloves and I have the best hands in the world.

I'm just sayin'.

Cierre had no issues holding on to the ball and he was clearly wearing the gloves.

I believe they practice in them as well.

Blaming the TOs on the gloves is just as silly as pinning past losses on the green jerseys.

Cierre was dying to show them off after his touchdown.

you mean the green jerseys at boston college weren't more slippery? and that is why we couldn't catch the ball several years ago???

TJ Jones was so concerned with how cool the gloves were that he forgot to put his hands up to catch the damn ball.

It's a variable but not the answer. ND ran the ball 29 times with one fumble that was due to a strip. A punt was muffed due to position in fielding the ball and the closing defenders. There were 31 receptions. And there were 5 KOs returned. The Jones INT was off his shoulder not his hands. The shanked punts and missed FG had clean snaps but less than precise footwork.

I'd love for it to be the gloves, the color of jerseys or pants, or the paint on helmets but it was misexecution.

I think you are right. If you watch the play closely, you can clearly see him looking down at his gloves right before the ball bounces off his head. His inner dialogue probably went something like this: "Look at these gloves! #swag"

Yeah, it must have been the gloves because every pass that we threw to someone that wasn't wearing them (someone wearing a USF uni) the ball was caught. Maybe TJ needs to wear gloves over his ear holes.

Yea...it was the gloves. That's it. But what about the 3 interceptions & penalties?

The game was a nightmare and it kept me up on Saturday, literally, for 2 hours in the middle of the night.
