That is the second time this has come up with a recruit. Makes you think the other coach's don't abide by that rule.

I think you're right. Good to know we are following the rules at least. Hope that doesn't put us at a competitive disadvantage.

I'm sure there is an exception for contact to un-recruit a player. There is no competitive advantage to that kind of contact.

I thought it was by text that we broke up with Schutt?

And if I had to guess, Yuri may be number 2 behind Shaq for us at the moment, but I think the staff really really wants Shaq. Who doesn't? I'd love Yuri as well though.

Maybe they called the HS coach who told him to call the coach? I don't really know but that is my thought. (I don't know the recruiting rules either so that might be illegal and they wouldnt have done that)

I guess after "Schuttgate" as it has been called, I hope that the staff will hold a spot for the kid.

He seems like an elite talent...

Michigan is back in it. From an interview the mogblog guy did with Yuri:

I would say Michigan is in my top two, I've always liked Michigan. I haven't really cut my list down yet, but they're in the top somewhere. Just the tradition that's at Michigan, the winningest program, the coaches, and the whole experience of going to school there. Coach Mallory has been telling me it's just about getting a chance to come to Michigan and getting better when I get there, and hopefully make it to the league.

I talked to Coach Mallory the other day. I'm definitely going to take one of my officials there, but I'm not planning on making my decision until the Army All American game. I'll take all of my officials and then decide. I don't know what other schools I want to visit yet, but I've always liked Colorado, Georgia, Cal, and Michigan State too. Those are some of them.

I feel like whichever school reporter he talks to, that school just happens to be his favorite at the time. Slightly annoying

UM clearly wants another DB and a relatively big one. My guess is they're pushing for one of either Yuri or Armani.

Has a new top 2 of Cal and Rutgers.

ND still in his top 6. I have never seen a recruit have a different top 2 more than he does.

I see he has not scheduled to visit us this Fall on the Visitor Thread. Any chances he does between now and NSD?

Pour the love on Yuri and Shaq Thompson and watch our DB class get enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame.

i really hope we're sitting good with shaq...good start and a thrashing of usc may be enough to get him to commit when he visits.

We are sitting good. But its going to be extremely tough to pull him away from Cal. His brother went there already committed there and he lives just up the high way.

Cal is still the frontrunner. What is working in our favor is the idea they are pitching of coming in with Tee and Darby as 1 bad-*** DB unit.

As for Wright, there has been debate about how hard the staff is pursuing him. Times he says they have not contacted him and other times he says the staff wants him bad

I'm thinking the staff is going after Howard a little more than Wright.

So he said he is focused on the five schools that are showing him the most interest right now and we didn't make that list, but then he went on to say that he really likes ND and we told him he is at the top of our board.

He is so confusing.

This is per 24/7 btw.

No, seriously, how does that make any sense? That could only mean we really aren't going for another DB at the moment.

For his part, Wright has taken all of the attention in stride. He hasn't focused much time on recruiting other than to narrow his list of suitors to Rutgers, Georgia, Notre Dame, California, Michigan and Michigan State. There are no leaders among that group, but the Wolverines do hold one favorable distinction."Michigan is the school I wanted to go to my whole life, and I just love the University of Michigan," Wright told Scout.com. "I'm going to visit Michigan. It's in two or three weeks, but I have to settle on the date."

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
