I'm assuming that Bama will smoke PSU in that game, but who knows how that will look to prospects.

we need some good news on this guy.. skiping out on schutt will cost us hard if we don't land him... i wish we were up to 20 recruits rather than 14 this yrs class needs to get in top 5..

Its August 11th. And really what is the difference between a top 5 class and a top 10 class?We are hitting on all of our needs with quality players which is far more important than the class' final recruiting site ranking. Additionally, being able to hold out on a guy like Jones just proves that he is more of a luxury than a need at this point. While losing him would sting because we turned away Schutt, it certainly wouldnt cost us hard. We bring back KLM next year, have lynch and tuitt from last year and should most likely sign at least Day in this cycle. We have Kona Schwenke who is continuing to evolve into a legit BCS caliber DE, and we still have guys like Hounshell who could develop on either off of def. We are also chasing Noah Spence as DE and he would be our top priority at the moment anyhow.
Enjoy your enthusiasm though, and I definitely agree it would be nice to get some good news on JJ, like that he committed to ND!
As Te'o4Heisman noted ito's only August, 6 months left in recruiting. If we had 20 guys we'd all be talking about who gets the last ride.
At least if Jones committed it would schutt the lid on the whinning. Kelly got the guy he wanted. Now he's after the guy he wants to play with Day. Defense is coming together.

i know we have a great BCS base defense as of now i say.. i just want to keep that depth for yrs not one... i'm sure we'll get them if we get what were after RB wise we will finally be back to back to back BCs games... god i hope we land jones i really liked schutt a bunch..

Are you upset we're not taking a TE or a QB this cycle? We're not taking a DT for the same reason; plenty of talented depth at the position already, and scholarships are needed to shore up areas of actual need.

They haven't played a game yet, let's not call the Irish a "great BCS base defense" yet. They had an impressive run to finish the season, nothing more yet.

well i'm betting our defense will be BCS calibur..
i think we'll take off better than last yr.. the attitude from BK and the players seems to be Defense first.. which i like.. not upset about the DT jst thought schutt looked good... Jones is the guy i want tho..
