Oregon Rap Video

Just came across this video by some rapper named Xile (I think). It's a song called "O Time", and it's about Oregon football. 2 things here:

1. Even if you detest rap, this video is about 10,000,000 times better than that monstrosity that NOtre Dame tried to pass off as a video (Freakbass - *shudder*). Our video tried to make ND look like the whitest, dorkiest campus in the world.

2. If you like women, just watch the video for the outstanding talent this dude hired to be "O' girls, plus the hotties walking the town with him. Holy crap, some of them just shouldn't be legal. Wow.

These girls, like 90% of Oregon's football roster, are no doubt imported from So. Cal.

I don't like the whole idea of this video. The local sports radio guys (Isaac and Big Suke) were talking about this, the other day. They were all over it, talking about how great it is that Oregon has marketed itself as a "cool" school. One of the reasons that I became an ND fan is because I believe that they personify what should be, in college athletics: Earn your respect on the field, THEN you can start adding all of the music videos and other extras to your portfolio. Oregon is the antithesis of that: Pretend like you are the greatest thing since sliced bread(even though you haven't accomplished ANYTHING special just yet), in an attempt to bring in athletes that will put your program over the top. I want guys who WANT to play for ND. I want guys that want to be challenged, every week, year in and year out. I don't want guys that think it is "cool" to play at ND.

Thanks, great vid. Both my parents went to IU so consequently I also grew up a huge IU Basketball fan (met Digger last year at the Press Club at the ND stadium and he's still whining about the NCAA Tournament being single elimination 1987-1994 were good years to be an ND and IU fan in my world.

By the way, there's a lot of music I don't care for, but to detest any type of music is at best sectarian and provincial, at worst bigoted.
