To GB and TurningPoint, I get the feeling Neutered doesn't like people who get praise for having inside sources. I don't think he believes you really have them and/or he doesn't think people should kiss your *** for giving up the scoop. The last part he may be right about. Nonetheless, I don't think he should flip out on anyone.
Great job by the mods last night. IrishFan (I hope that's right), the hoops mod, was working pretty hard in the wee hours of the morning so I commend him.
I believe this is the issue for Neutered. Honestly I think part of the thing was that TP showed up here and had instant credibility and Neutered was skeptical. I think, generally, healthy skepticism is a good thing. It certainly proved correct in previous instances. The difference with TP is that he brought credibility with him because a lot of posters here already knew him from his twitter account.
I like that there are posters here that have sources. It is one of the things, along with posters with great football knowledge and insight, that makes this board a good place to be. I would never expect someone to reveal their source. That is kind of part of the deal; you gain credibility by being right consistently, not by selling your source out.
I think another selling point of this board, though, is some of the characters that post here. Neutered was definitely one of them. I do wish that the whole thing last night didn't happen, because I don't want to see people who bring something of value get chased from the board, and I also hate to see someone who helps add color and humor to the board get run out. Its too bad those things had to be at loggerheads last night. But the mods did the only thing they could do. Neutered was clearly the instigator.
As much as I wish he was still here and hope he comes back, he can only blame himself for getting the Pete Rose treatment.
