Questions only a fan would know?

I built a random app this weekend (think Chatroulette minus video/nudity, only works pregame, five or so minutes after ND scores and during commercials, and is only for ND fans to be able to celebrate the score/randomly connect with other ND fans) that I'll market correctly and not spam you all with here..

My question is what do you think would be some of the hardest to google questions that would verify if someone is truly an ND fan or not, and be easy enough for the average fan (who may or may not have even ever been to SB) to answer?

Questions could be something football related like.. name the troubled wideout Lou didn't get?
(A good question today..)

Or SB/campus related like.. you're in a cafe playing Scrabble, where are you?
(Yelp says they closed? ..what happened?)

Or trick questions like.. name ND's three golf courses?
(I miss the Burke)

Any suggestions or question ideas?

My bad!

Simply put: What is the toughest/most interesting Notre Dame football trivia question you can think of?

Your fine. I just couldn't answer any of those questions before today. And I consider myself a true ND fan. Just not an educated one, which is why I love this site. I understand the app, just didn't know the answers to the question. Good Luck.

Name the six QBs listed ahead of Montana on the depth chart in 1975 (I can't answer this)

Yeah, that's why I'm having trouble with it.. It's almost impossible to come up with questions that are too hard for a non fan just wanting to talk trash or something and easy enough for true fans. And, those examples were just off the top of my head, and in no way trying to say someone isn't a true fan because they don't know them! Randy Moss in the news today.. Lula's, I don't know why I thought of that? and I used to work at The Burke so.. anyways.

I use to have an official Notre Dame Trivia game.

I bet it's still around here somewhere...

Were snowballs actually thrown at players at the Syracuse game?

How did Jimmy Clausen get a black eye?

How did Jimmy Clausen get a black eye?

He was out to dinner and a drunk fan hit him.

I remember snow balls being an issue at the Syracuse game and some people writing some articles about being dissapointed witht the student section.. But, I don't know if they were actually thrown at the players.

What two players did Lou Holtz suspend prior to the 1988 ND - USC matchup?

I know Ricky Watters was one of them.

Yes, there were some thrown. Pat Kuntz was none too happy... and neither was the administration. They threatened the students by saying they would play back a recording of the student sections and punish anyone they saw throwing them. I was not there, as I had the flu that day. Terrible football + drunk students + way too much snow... it's a terrible combination to have if you don't want snowballs thrown. I think I heard a camera-man got hit with one, which is what really got it all started.

I heard through the grapevine Jimmy was sucker-punched after someone had talked bad about his girl while at CJs. Jimmy had gone back and told the guy to knock it off, and as he was leaving, bam. Could be off, since that's probably third or fourth hand. I never did understand why I saw some reports saying he was at dinner with his family and also some that said it happened at 2am.

Here's one: How many references to ND are in Shrek?

i heard Armando Allen punched him after Jimmy went off in the locker room following the UConn loss about how he couldn't wait to go pro.

Probably not true, but much more interesting than being sucker punched in a bar

I'd heard that it was actually Allen, as well.

Not saying that I believe it in the slightest.

I would say you don't have to make the questions impossible just hard enough that some people would have to look it up. If that were the case I believe the hecklers wouldn't really take the time to a)buy the app and b)actually take the time to look it up. For instance I would ask something simple, but challenging like who is number 6 on ND's current team? A question like this most ND fans would get, but i doubt an uneducated SCum or scUM fan would get it.

I doubt that any of the Michigan fans I know (that is to say, quite a few) could name five of our current players.

I was there, sitting in the student section just about as close as you could be. Students chucked them at camera men, cops, etc... or just tried to hit the field. No one was aiming at players "because they were playing bad" as many newspapers purported. Everyone forgets ND was winning that game until the very end. Kids were just having fun.

The best part was when one kid hit a cop and they came up into the stands after him. Hilarious.

I heard through the grapevine Jimmy was sucker-punched after someone had talked bad about his girl while at CJs. Jimmy had gone back and told the guy to knock it off, and as he was leaving, bam. I heard it second hand from a "witness" (so it could be total bullshit) but that is mighty close. What I heard is that it was over a girl, but the situation was a bit juxtaposed.

Nope. I know of two. The town in the movie is called Du Lac, a reference to our beloved University of Notre Dame du Lac. The other one I've heard is that the name of the Prince, Lord Farquad, is a reference to Carroll Hall, as it is far away from the rest of campus. I'd love to hear any others.
