As sad as it is, "silly" stuff like this (that some of us may or may not be fans of) will help greatly in drawing the attention of recruits. Good to see ND finally get on board. Nothing wrong with doing something like this once a year.

I am making the trip over for the two home games on the trot ( 22nd and 29th October ) The game v U$C will be my first ever time at an ND game in the flesh, so I'm really buzzin about the night time ko. Have scored a photographers pass for the Navy game, so that should be sweet !!

very cool how can we get a photographers pass? that would be a dream come true i'm trying to decide which game to go to this yr. i went last yr for my first time oct. 9 my birthday and oct. 16 pitt and western mich., and trust me it takes two games back to back to see everything.. i split it up did the tunnel walk both times tho... loved it so much i was planning the trip for this yr right away i will make a game every yr now i love this footbal team/field/atmosphere so much... Go Irish

I'll pm you the name of the guy - don't wanna put it on here and I'd appreciate it if you'd keep it to yourself, he prob wouldn't be too happy if he started getting mails from all sorts to ask for photogs passes.......I'm prob just getting it because Im coming over from Ireland, though I am a sports photographer here too. They said I could have one for any game except U$C as they said things on the sidelines can get a bit hectic at that game........

I wold love to see them show the game on the 4 big screens inside of Purcell Pavilion. There is no way they could pack enough of the people that want to see this game into the stadium.

The idea of being on campus with thousands of screaming fans in the stadium is great(but not very realistic for many). So why not put those screaming fans in the Pavilion in front of big screens. Who knows - they might pack the place.

I don't think weather will be a factor, unless there is a cold front or rain. Here are the weather observations from 2005-2010 at this years game time temps & conditions:

10/2005 - 44° - Cloudy

10/2006 - 58° - Overcast

10/2007 - 65° - Clear

10/2008 - 48° - Clear

10/2009 - 40° - clear

10/2010 - 59° - Scattered Clouds

So as you can see these temps are no worse than Socal's night temps. So for Mid-October L.A. night time temps are around 57°-59°. So unless it hits 30° the weather won't matter....

In one of the big playoff nba games this year, they had a great idea. They had a huge projecter put the game up on the side of the building. Do this at nd in the parking lot side and get the parking lot pumped. Set up some stations for retail tents (you know they've got to sell something) and some food tents. Party central and would be a great experience for the fans that can't get in the game.
