I'll let you all fill in the info gaps. Decommit from tOSU. 247 says High on UM and Alabama, apparently holds an ND offer.

In my opinion Notre Dame would have a better shot with Kalis if he was out of St. Ignatius instead of St. Edward.

I think he ends up at Michigan or remains at Ohio State.

Easily fixable with the college coaches.....pry plays high just because of his brute strength he just pushes people around - doesn't need much technique.

I have all of his games and he is a great offensive lineman. Yes he plays high at times but he lost some games last year to an injury and he ended losing weight and strength because of it. He played against top notch competition and it will only be better this year. Last year he played against Kenny Hayes (Ohio State) and Chris Wormley (a lot of offers). If you look at their schedule last year and the one for this year, there is no doubt that he is going against some of the best players week after week. If he plays high no big deal, that's what coaching is for in college. He would be a huge get. I know that ND needs to act a little less arrogant when recruiting St. Eds. They turned some kids off by the way the coach apparently acted while visiting there this past year. I do know he likes Michigan and that scares me.

Also on ESPN he mentioned it would be great to go up against Strobel and Wormley.

Wormley is an ESPN 4-star DE who hasn't committed yet but is a Michigan lean and Kalis says that he's certain he is going the UM......damn Michigan.

Michigan is making a living in Ohio this recruiting cycle and it's killing me. Hoke is firmly planted in Ohio. If they get Wormley and Strobel and Kalis, not only does that hurt OSU but it hurts ND.

Well this all sucks. It seems Michigan is going to profit greatly off of the demise of Ohio State. I actually don't care about missing out on these guys (because I think our OL situation is strong and our front 7 recruiting was unreal last year) but I do not like the fact that Michigan is going to be stockpiling some really talented guys.

Living in Ohio with a family member just reporting to OSU's campus Sunday, it's sucks to see a lot of the top tier talent in the state considering Michigan. Brionte Dunn could be another one that could go to UM. ND needs to go back into the state and reaffirm their need for these kids. I don't care about Strobel and Wormley because of the DL class we had last year but Kalis and Dunn would fill an immediate need for ND. Ohio is a top 5 high school football state and there is a lot of talent that is out there to be had.

no doubt coaching will help him but i also saw him playing with heavy knee braces, were those injuries last year to his knees? also, i was told that the st edward resentment towards ND goes back to Charlie's arrogant recruitment of Alex Boone...its unfortunate because they have become an O-line factory lately...

I don't think he has knee problems, it could be a precautionary thing like you see in college and the pros. As to resentment, I don't think that is the case because the HC has only been there for two seasons going on three now. I am very close to the OC and they don't think that way. The reason is this past spring when a ND coach came to the school, he acted arrogant and was ordering the coaches around. The kids felt he was arrogant. St. Eds is about to go on a huge run with a wealth of talent so Martin or Hinton need to step it up at Eds. Put it this way, Eds is getting a freshman who won't play for them until his sophomore maybe junior year and as an 8th grader ran a 10.99 FAT 100 meter dash and a 22.54 FAT 200 meter dash with a personal best of 22 ft 1 inches in the long jump.

i went to school with their special teams guy so i will have to get the story from him next time i catch him recruiting in my area.

FWIW, individuals on Michigan boards that claim to have inside info believe Kyle will commit to Michigan this weekend (named Saturday as the date). He is very close with Strobel, who helped influence his visit to the Wolverines to quickly after the decommitment. He apparently enjoyed it, friended dozens of Michigan players on Facebook, and his commit is only a matter of time. Again, take it FWIW, but from everything I have seen this seems likely. ND never really had a shot.

Kalis wont be coming to ND. Mark that down. Michigan is his leader at the moment and I wouldnt be surprised when its said and done if he ended up back at osu. Kalis is a talent but he fits more of power type style of play. I think he could play in the spread but I think he would be better in the michigan/osu type offenses.

Getting a pipeline in NE Ohio would be extremely tough, even with osu problems. I think if ND can continue to get the Cincinnati kids as well as develop good relationships around Columbus they will be able to get great talent from ohio and more importantly from the midwest.

I agree on the OSU reference, but Michigan (i believe), is istill using spread principles in their O.

I agree with a lot of the things you said but ND has to try to break into Northeast Ohio because that is where the bulk of your talent is in the state along with the Southwest portion. Kalis can play in the spread. He could play in any offense. He currently plays in an offense that does both, Pro style and spread. The kid is a stud!

I think he ends up back at OSU when all is said and done. OSU will still beat Michigan this year. Michigan finishes 7-5 or 8-4 at best.

Thank you.

It would be a nice haul of for Hoke.

Keeping it all together will be a challenge, especially if they don't play winning football. But, I agree that they are looking good so far on the recruiting trail.
