They had a marvelous team in '04, despite the hardware being taken away. Their blowout victory in the national title game was nothing short of extraordinary.

Nevertheless, I'm as happy as anyone to see the BCS do what's right and strip cheaters of their title.

"I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but my guess would be that you have a 100% greater chance of getting slashed to death by an ex-USC player, than you do getting injured by an ND player who has been drinking and driving."

It's funny that they have to vacate the Rose Bowl appearance where they lost.

Do they have to pay back the cashish they got paid for that Rose Bowl appearance? (that would be epic!) If you remember, U$C voluntarily gave up the 200k they got for the NCAA tourney appearance with OJ Simpson, I mean, OJ Mayo. How great would it be if they had to payback the 13mill they got for the bowl appearance? (i know that $$$ is split between pac10 schools, but USC should be on the hook for it all)

The NCAA is showing everyone what tOSU is gonna get by the way they are handling U$C. I really believe they are setting a tone with U$C, and are going to maintain that same tone with tOSU. I still expect the sanctions to be less against tOSU because they havent fought the NCAA tooth and nail for 3.5 years on the issue. tOSU didnt give themselves up, but they dont seem to be defiantly, arrogantly stonewalling the NCAA either.

I welcome this...this means that U$C fan will forever have to explain the sanctions of 2004. Because anytime a U$C fan talks to me about the 04 title, I will always respond with, "wasnt that title stripped?" which will cause him to explain the sanctions to me (which of course I already know about). This puts U$C fan in a perpetual conversation that they have to explain for as long as they bolster about the NC's (which if you know U$C fan, you know thats just about every conversation).

20 years from now, U$C fan will still need to explain the question, "wasnt that '04 title stripped?"

More than likely that 04 team of the condoms was good. If I recall that auburn team was the one that won a game 3-0 against a bad ole miss team and bragged about how good their defense was.

You hear clamoring about how they won their games on the field so that makes them the best team of that year. The ENTIRE point gets overlooked in that illogical thought process. The point is; Reggie was made $300,000.00 more comfortable in his lifestyle at So.Cal. Less distractions. A.) I'm convinced that part of the reason the NCAA came down on us as hard as they did was Mike Garrett's "f**k you!" attitude. While a part of me thought it was great that MG didn't kiss their asses, the flip side is that the NCAA can basically do whatever the hell they want. So if you do everything in your power to **** them off, they're going to come down even harder.

B.) I don't like Haden bending over and playing nice any more than the rest of you, but what's the alternative? If he goes out swinging and badmouthing the NCAA every chance he gets, they're going to continue snooping and find every last detail they can to punish the school further.

At first, I was going to say maybe some of those entitled-yahoos over at weareusc.com were finally getting it, finally placing blame where it belonged (on bush).
