I have no idea. I'm just saying, why else would you punish your soul by living in freaking Syracuse, NY? Can't think of a worse place to be. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Just a gross, gross piece of land.

Uhh.....I'll take Ann Arbor for 2000, Alex!

Move to DC. Not that hot and the Government keeps this area rolling.

"Not that hot"? Did you just move to D.C.? D.C. gets gross in the summer.

Perkins looks like an old school RB in his tape- he loves running over people.

Ann Arbor ain't that bad. Just to the west of it, I mean just, by god, is an area known as the "Irish Hills." Spent a lot of time there growing up, Devil's Lake Pavilion, seeing Bob Seger, later MIS, and tall boys.

Someone must like it, the realestate is still out of this world.

Basically lived in the greater DC area my entire life except for stints across the country and OCONUS for work/school. Yeah, it gets really humid starting in late June through August... but hell even South Bend gets really hot and humid during those months. It's very hard to find anywhere in the country that isn't stifling during the peak of summer... but some areas (Florida, Southwest, etc.) are markedly worse. I spent last summer on the border in Arizona and it was like living in the fiery bowels of Hell once the sun came up.

Anyways, back to Perkins, is there anyone in South Bend who might have an inside scoop?

That was more for the University that resides in that town. The area and land is beautiful, however, I couldn't live in skunkbear land.

I hope its not naive to think that pretty much means he'll be announcing for ND. Local kid has been waiting for ND to come calling for a while now, finally gets his scores to where they need to be which is quite obviously what has been holding is offer up, receives his offer, publicly lets his excitement be known and shortly after says he will be announcing his decision early next week.

Sounds like we should be receiving another verbal soon. Fingers crossed...love the physicality this kid brings to the game.

I'm going to be optimistic and think that he is incredibly stoked he got an offer from Notre Dame due to his SAT scores and wanted to commit ASAP. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I'm just hoping he has genuine interest in ND and that his coach is in his ear. He's from Michigan and only moved to South Bend a year or so ago, so I'm not sure if he grew up a fan of ND.

Where's Derek Dieter at when you need him? Dude would be the perfect inside source since his son is teammates with DP at Washington.

Is everyone still going to be this excited if he winds up on the defensive side of the ball after said hypothetical verbal?

Regardless of all the talk I think he'll play RB unless we pull in some RB prospects...

Based on his film, I agree with you. I can definitely see him being the next big guy in the backfield. At 6'2" and already over 200lbs, he could be a monster by the time he sees the field in a couple years. Add those measurables to his apparent speed, non-stop motor and affinity for plowing through defensemen- can make for a great compliment to whichever speed guy we have back there.

But if we pull in a Keith Marshall or Barry Sanders Jr. calibur guy...let him play linebacker all damned day long.

Why not keep him in the backfield at that point? These speed/finesse guys will always benefit from a change-of-pace bruiser, no?

Does it make a difference?

Does it make a difference?

Does it really make a difference at this point which position DAVID is recruited for?
He has a year of High School left. He will not report (unless EE) until a year from now.
A lot can happen. Right now he looks great at both positions.

BENNETT JACKSON and AUSTIN COLLINSWORTH are DBs recruited as WRs.
LUKE MASSA a QB now at WR
MATTHIAS FARLEY a DB at WR
GEORGE ATKINSON a WR at RB

If DAVID PERKINS wants to come to ND he will.
If he wants to go to Syracuse he will.
His position should not be the governing factor.
