No. I'd say OLB.

6'2'' is short for OLB in Diaco's system, no?

Still better than S, but not nearly as exciting as RB.

I hope this means the staff feels good about where they sit with a bunch of quality RBs.

But then we also offered someone who was lucky to be 6' at LB so...

Which recruit is this?

I could swear our coaching staff told Bolden that 6'4'' is the minimum height requirement for OLB prospects.

Me thinks he was a MLB...I'll have to look it up...

I'm with you here. Several of our recent OLB offers have been in the 6'2 - 6'3 height range. I think they would prefer larger athletes, but obviously it isn't a dealbreaker in certain cases.

Have we offered anyone at ILB this cycle? I didn't think so...

What I'm getting at is perhaps we're misinterpreting where these recruits are projecting.

Assumptions: Perkins is too short to play OLB, and we're not offering anyone at ILB this cycle. Thus, he must be offered as a S or RB.

David Perkins

A few months ago DAVID was voted the MVP of one of the NIKE camps. He was a running back there. Recently he atteneded a camp wher he was a terror coming off the edge as an OLB. We have a ton on LBs but no Power RBs DAVID can be the guy needed in the backfield.

His coach, who is a former ND player, when asked about which position he is better at said said as a LB he is great coming off the edge but not very good in coverage.

My vote is DAVID PERKINS to replace JONAS GRAY in the backfield next year.
Also put DAVID down as my choice for next committment.

This is my hope as well.

Perkins as a power back excites me. As a LB or S... not so much.

more about DAVID PERKINS

more about DAVID PERKINS

He first visited back in Feb or early March. He said the biggest thrill was talking to COACH KELLY and finding out "they are going to recruit him as a running back-the position he wants to play in college.

Some OLB offers 6'3 or under: Aiken, Marcus, Ekanem, Nance, Northrup, McCord, Jenkins-Stone (Mich Commit), Richmond (A&M Commit), and Odenigbo is listed usually at 6'3, not 6'4.

Let's not make assumptions. How about lets just agree he is a great athlete that could excel at several positions?

I think we came to this party to late. Loves Cuse and Tenn. someone told me we were 4th out of his top 5. Kelly offered him as an athlete so it could be LB or RB.

My assumptions were clearly incorrect. I'll leave off.

Thanks for the info, Ironman.

ISD said he has a leader and has set a date to announce...

Aye.

And here is the scoop, minus the announcement date...

(I've heard this may be a smokescreen from a reputable poster, and conspirators regard he very well may end up Irish due to his interest for so long w/o an offer... ;))

<--- This guy, with the two thumbs, hopes so.

What you mean here is the scoop?

From others I've read elsewhere.

Why are you so goshdang defensive?

For crying out loud.

B&G has Cuse highly regarded with ND trailing at dos.

Per B&G:

“For the hottest you have to put Syracuse,” Perkins said. “Two is Notre Dame. Three is Tennessee. Four I'm going to go with Mississippi State. Five is Michigan State.”

Essentially, many services have the top five but have different faves listed.

"What chu wanna do? Have a go homey?"
