Smart guy on Rivals had this to say:

A couple different responses, in brief:

Dorial Green-Beckham was visited by Coaches Alford and Warinner AT his high school last Friday, as I think Pete noted below. Not a visit to ND yet. That's under discussion for summer as noted previously. Sorry for confusion.

Darboh remains very much in play here, this offer to Greenberry aside. He's waiting to get his guardians out to ND when possible. Not clear yet on the timing.

Greenberry is more a WR right now and we offered with that in mind, but he has potential and ability to play FS as well. Versatile athlete who has been coached some by Shepard's renowned DB guru, Tony Perry. Transferred from famed Fresno Edison to Wash Union a year ago. Fresno is a "hidden gem" in turning out college and pro talent per capita.

They like him Outside, but he could slide Inside if necessary, too. Different Outside type than Ferguson, who himself is different than Daniels and Atkinson. Remember the likely mix of WRs on the depth chart in '12 and beyond -- we need a lot of help and talent infusion, and in various places and skill sets.

They obviously like Greenberry, so I noted him in late March for a reason. He's tested very well (4.4s range 40; 4.2s range short shuttle; mid-30s or better vertical, etc) at combines/camps last summer and recently, and been noted as a standout performer in actual football drills and on-field play at each stop. Barry Every/Rivals (fairly noted talent evaluator in all seriousness) has raved about him, as have the guys from ESPN, 247 and Scout for those who follow such stuff. Lemming, too! Named to US Army AA Game based on performances.

From Stanford's Nike Camp this weekend, under "Weekend's Best":

Four-star wide receiver Deontay Greenberry continues to show he can make tough catches in camp settings. Greenberry put on a show the last time we saw him- at the Badger Elite 11 in Las Vegas- and continued to make his trademark difficult catches during this event. He dropped a few, too, and wasn’t as dominant as he was in Vegas, but he still was one of the top prospects in Palo Alto. Arizona State, California, Notre Dame, UCLA, UNLV, Washington and Washington State all have offered Greenberry. The Fighting Irish have been the team to beat.

ND has found great WR's that are making splashes early in the process, in him and Justin Ferguson. Greenberry will be are's in about a month. Now we just need Amara Darboh, Bryce Treggs and Malik Gilmore to jump on board too. Greenberry, Daniels, Ferguson, Treggs, Atkinson, Darboh, Gilmore and TJ Jones. yikes. oo ya and Ben Koyack he aint to bad either.

yes, DGB is more than welcome to join regardless of how many receivers we already have committed.

I really hope this kid comes to ND. This kid is getting alot of rave reviews and seems like a kid that could really do nicely in our system.

There should/ will be a lot of suitors that join the mix. I don't think he is gonna be an easy get for us like so many thinks he is.

I'm saying 100 percent get. Just have total confidence he just wants to come see the campus then its like...ok let's do this. Openly stated loves ND...wants an offer badly...wants to play with his cousin...got the offer now he just has to commit. I'm not sweating over this one. Huge soon to be get!

If I were a QB, I'd be really excited coming to ND... We're locking up the WR position for the next 4-5 years.

I like our chances with this kid as well, but I am being cautiously optimistic at the same time. I think he will be Irish shortly but then again anything can happen.

More from the Stanford Camp, very encouraging per 24/7:

Based on what we heard and saw at Stanford Sunday, it probably is just a matter of time before four-star wide receiver Deontay Greenberry (Fresno, Calif./Washington Union) commits to Notre Dame, joining fellow Fresno-area star and friend Tee Shepard (Fresno, Calif./Central East) on the Fighting Irish commit list.

Added Alabama and USC offers per Rivals and Scout and ISD, respectively.

Might be in June, but I think this is our next verbal. He is another big and physical WR with good hands. He is tearing up every camp he steps foot at right now and collecting big offers in the process. Greenberry and Ferguson should wrap up the outside and let the staff focus on the slot.

I think Greenberry and Gilmore will be our next two commits.

It is an interview done by a usc website, and he pretty much try's to not talk about usc as much as he can. "Are you going to camp at sc? NOPE"

"I like the fact USC starts freshman"

1) Laney working his lies
2) TJ, Floyd, and Kamara started as frosh
3) I like the fact he doesn't seem to interested in SC.

may be the hottest player at his position in america...sooner he and tee visit the better. commits like this guy may make it more enticing (sp) to land one of the QB's on our radar.
