We may have made too much of his intent to major in business. He apparently was impressed with Florida's "communications" program (gimme a break) as well.

An economics degree from Stanford will open plenty of doors for Davis. Other than my firm belief that Stanford will backslide over the next 4 years, I can't really fault him for his decision.

Has he said anything about being done with recruiting now, or will he still talk to some schools?

Stanford has a good chance to drop significantly this year so I'd say we still have a shot.

What would you consider a significant drop? They still have Andrew Luck as a QB, and I have a hard time seeing them losing more than 3 games this season.

The first half of their season is cake walk. I doubt 2-3 losses against tough competition in October and November would shake Davis loose.

By significant, I mean like 4 losses. lol

Pretty easy to shrug off an 8-4 season during a coaching transition.

Now 7-5, especially with Luck as your QB, would probably raise some eyebrows. I just don't see that happening.

Andrew Luck is going to go a long way to masking any non-major coaching deficiencies the new HC in Palo Alto has.

It irks me that we're losing guys like Alex Carter and Noor Davis to Stanford, though. Nothing against Stanford; it's a great school. I'm just jealous like that.

Here is the article from Corey Long ESPN Insider on Noor Davis

He said he may take some official visits to some of the schools in his Top 5 to make sure he made the right decision......glimmer of hope if he decides to visit ND which I think he will for the USC game since both were in his Top 5

I feel bad for the kids that are going to Stanford. They have been a good football team for a few years now and can't even fill their stadium. WTF?

Good luck Noor. I hope you get what you are looking for there!

If we can get him on campus for the USC game, I like our chances to flip him and we know our coaches are not going to throw in the towel so not over yet!

Talk to FSU recruits. It's the same there, only with a education not in the same league as Stanford.

I think they'll be competitive for ~4 more years. Probably up and down but no worse than a 4-5 loss team. This year they very well might go undefeated.

As long as they have Polian I think they'll continue to recruit alright. It's weird that Florida, Stanford and Michigan now all have former ND coaches in pretty prominent recruiting positions... and none of them left on good terms.

Now I haven't checked out their schedule, but they lost a significant amount of players. I can't see them going undefeated, no matter how good Luck is.

FYI they have a seemingly favorable schedule. IMO, doesn't matter if their new coach isn't great this year, Luck will win games by himself if he has too.

Luck is no doubt a great player, but he lost a lot of his supporting cast. Most the O-line is gone, the top 2 WRs departed, and superman Marecic went bye-bye. I know they'll still be a good team, but I'm doubting a perfect season.

From the article with ESPN:

"But I felt so comfortable with Stanford that there was no reason to wait. I also want to give the other schools an opportunity to devote their energy and resources to recruiting other worthy prospects."

i think this is incredible for a 16 year old to think about. class act.
