With Jimbo at the helm, it looks to me like Free Shoes U is headed back to perennial top 10 status in the very near future. The chips seem to be falling perfectly for them again recruiting wise, and playing in the ACC will be about as free a ticket to the BCS as there is. Anybody else feel the power shifting again in the state of Florida? I know FSU's impending resurgence has been widely covered, but anybody else think they will exceed expectations and dominate UF and the U the entire decade?

FSU sucks. They could be the #1 team in the country and still not fill the stadium.

FSU Sucks: Agree 100%, on twice on Sunday

Still couldn't fill stadium: I always thought FSU and UF had a great following, and it was the U that had a crappy one?

UF fills their stands every game. FSU does not. Miami is notorious for being the most fickle fans in the country.

That's pathetic. Why would a recruit want to go somewhere that has such a poor fanbase?

They're going to be a force for the next few years.

Would love for ND to schedule a home and home with them.

I wouldn't. Urban Meyer had a gem on College Football Live yesterday where he told a story about a young coach getting advice from, if I remember correctly, Switzer. Switzer told him the three most important things to being a successful coach are:
1. Create a manageable schedule
2. Create a manageable schedule
3. Create a manageable schedule

Truth be told, Notre Dame's biggest problem is that every year we play something like 10 teams that will end up in bowls and usually at least two top 10 style teams. While it's hard to prognosticate years in advance, I don't see any benefit of adding a juggernaut to our schedule when we've already got Oklahoma, Texas, Miami, USC, Michigan, etc... not to mention guys like MSU and Stanford and BC who on any given year can have a very good team.

what is this thing about FSU and free shoes?

During the Seminoles' run to the national championship in 1993, nine Florida State players violated NCAA rules by allowing agents to bankroll a shopping spree at a Foot Locker store.
