Smart guy on Rivals had this to say:
A couple different responses, in brief:
Dorial Green-Beckham was visited by Coaches Alford and Warinner AT his high school last Friday, as I think Pete noted below. Not a visit to ND yet. That's under discussion for summer as noted previously. Sorry for confusion.
Darboh remains very much in play here, this offer to Greenberry aside. He's waiting to get his guardians out to ND when possible. Not clear yet on the timing.
Greenberry is more a WR right now and we offered with that in mind, but he has potential and ability to play FS as well. Versatile athlete who has been coached some by Shepard's renowned DB guru, Tony Perry. Transferred from famed Fresno Edison to Wash Union a year ago. Fresno is a "hidden gem" in turning out college and pro talent per capita.
They like him Outside, but he could slide Inside if necessary, too. Different Outside type than Ferguson, who himself is different than Daniels and Atkinson. Remember the likely mix of WRs on the depth chart in '12 and beyond -- we need a lot of help and talent infusion, and in various places and skill sets.
They obviously like Greenberry, so I noted him in late March for a reason. He's tested very well (4.4s range 40; 4.2s range short shuttle; mid-30s or better vertical, etc) at combines/camps last summer and recently, and been noted as a standout performer in actual football drills and on-field play at each stop. Barry Every/Rivals (fairly noted talent evaluator in all seriousness) has raved about him, as have the guys from ESPN, 247 and Scout for those who follow such stuff. Lemming, too! Named to US Army AA Game based on performances.
