Well they have the right to as on NOW. If, and when, he proves he is not the bad character person that people may think he is over this next year he will be right back at the top. He still has some things to get done first as BK said. He will earn his place again.

I love Michael Floyd just like most of us on here, but he has much to prove and alot more to worry about at this point than this. He made a HUGE mistake and until he is able to get all of this behind him and move forward then football really takes a backseat. I wish him all the luck and hopefully he can become a better person and a stronger player. Odds are he will rise to the top when it is all said and done. I have faith in him.

Let me put this as mildly as possible....

The fact that this guy had the Browns taking a QB in the top 5 with how much promise Colt McCoy showed last year coupled with the fact that Manti Te'o is nowhere on this list shows that you can 0% stock in any of this. That's really a pathetically bad mock draft.

True. I don't care what anyone says, if T'eo has the monster year he is projected to have, he is as good as gone, and easily a top 5-15 pick in any reasonable mock.

*Can't agree with McCoy being anything more than a servicable back-up in the NFL.

What about Te'o himself who has said repeatedly that he is staying and finishing his degree no matter what? Unless he is graduating next May I'm not as convinced as everyone else that he is "as good as gone."

I'm confused now. Why would you be upset that he wasn't on the list then if you think he won't be coming out?

I have seen a couple things that have Te'o projected at #17 and Floyd as the #3 senior draft prospect. They were tweets so it might be difficult for me to find, but it should be noted that these things mean absolutely nothing at this point.

I actually think it might have been in McShay's mock draft or early big board but its an Insider article so I can't be sure.

This isn't what I saw earlier (I don't think lol), but 2012 NFL Mock Draft: Todd McShay Already Reveals Next Year's First Round - SB Nation Kansas City

Using a draft order of Scouts, Inc. writer Matt Williamson’s power rankings after the draft, McShay has the Chiefs drafting at No. 17 overall. With that choice, the Chiefs take an inside linebacker, Man’ti Teo of Notre Dame:
Te’o has developed into a solid player and should emerge as one of the elite linebackers in the nation in 2011. He continues to improve his recognition skills and has the quickness and power you look for in a starting inside linebacker in the NFL.

Because they list other juniors and such with eligibility (see: Matt Barkley). If you're going to do a mock with the best available draft eligible players... Te'o has to be on there. Has nothing to do with the probability, per se, of him leaving.

There are too many unknowns surrounding Floyd right now to include him as a 1st rounder in a laughably premature 2012 mock draft.

Andrew Luck, Justin Blackmon top board - Andrew Perloff - SI.com

Unbelievable. Floyd was penciled in as a late-first, early second round pick in various mocks for this year, but didn't even scratch the surface for next year's. Wonder if they are considering something like "character issues" with him.
Wrong. Floyd was never considered a late first round or early second round in this years draft. The reason Floyd came back to school is because he was graded out as a third round prospect. With that beinhg considered and the fact he has a major off the field issue now; ofcourse he wouldn't be a first round pick at this point.

There were quite a few mocks circulating from credible publications that had him in the late first-early second area. I'll take your word for it that his official grade was 3rd round.

Yeah, Sherm is right.

On Floyd, guys, there's a bunch of mocks out right now, and you'll see Floyd as high as #10 and completely out of the 1st round nd everywhere between. I know it's meant to be fun, but IMO any mock right now is a complete joke, even if they put ND guys in the 1st round. Think about it...the best guys get about 8-10 picks right, and their mocks come out RIGHT BEFORE THE DRAFT! And now these clowns are trying to predict what's going to happen 360 days before the next draft??? I'll pass...

These mock drafts and preseason polls etc.., are fun and all but they are kind of retarded in many ways. I enjoy these things as much as the next guy as it kind of lessens the boredom of the off-season, but I take all of these things with a grain of salt. So many things can happen between now and then so I choose not to get too upset if my favorite players aren't in some mock draft, or ND isn't ranked where I think they should be.

I don't know...... he at least had it right, that the Clowns will have a pick in the first 3 picks. And not from a trade, either. They'll "earn" that pick.

I'm not saying Floyd didn't make a huge mistake. He did. A very bonehead move. He's lucky no one was hurt or killed, but honestly, he needs to focus on recovery for his obvious problem. I think he could take a 12 step or even attempt AA this summer and maybe earn back some respect from the sports world. I hope he does recover he's obviously a talented athlete but if he doesn't learn how to control himself now, he'll burn out early.

I agree with you. He needs to focus on positive things in his life, i.e. school, football, church, etc. I really hope he attends AA a couple of times or even sticks with it. He needs to turn it around, if he does a first round selection could come his way.

On a side note...If I were a GM at this point in time I wouldn't draft Floyd till the 5th round.
