Well, he is teammates and best friends with Kimbrow, and they plan on going to college together. Obviously by going hard after Redmond helps us on 2 fronts - both with Redmond who is a pretty good DB in his own right, and with Kimbrow - a major RB target. They will now be visiting ND together in June for ND's camp.

Kimbrow Set For ND Camp

“Just building a relationship with the coaches, being comfortable in the area and them not only wanting me, but wanting him too,” the 5-foot-9, 179-pound running back from Memphis, Tenn., (Memphis East High School) said.

The “him” he’s referring to is his friend and teammate Will Redmond. Notre Dame satisfied one of Kimbrow’s factors with an offer to Redmond earlier this month after a school visit by Irish assistant Tony Alford.

Kid looks really good in his highlights. Good speed....beats you to the corner....nice cutbacks. I can ND finding a spot for him on the roster. I would love this package deal with him and Kimbrow. Seems like a lot of good players are good friends with other good players (or related) and want to play college together.

From the Ole Miss Camp:

Brian Kimbrow is here fresh off of the Memphis camp a couple of days ago at which he ran another 4.28 40. Kimbrow continues to be high on Vanderbilt.

Kimbrow's teammate Will Redmond will be a serious factor in his recruitment and Redmond is here trying to earn an Ole MIss offer. He told me that Tennessee and Ole Miss are two programs that he really wants to get an offer from. He's landed offers from all over the southeast this spring. Redmond also ran a 4.3 40 at the Memphis camp. He's being recruited as a safety.
