ESPN has him rated at 83.....Darby and Tee are listed at 81's....from all we see with the DB's this kid must be legit if they have him rated higher. Exciting!

Where do you see this?

Also, for everyone's reference, an 83 would be higher than every single player in Notre Dame's last class except Aaron Lynch at 84.

Go to ND's team page on ESPN and scroll down. It is under 2012 recruits on the right hand side of the page, below Award winners and Standings. Has Justin at 83, Ronald and Tee at 81, Taylor at 79, Nicky at 77, and Scott at 45 (Not evaluated). Believe Ronald, Tee and Nicky are all better than those ratings.

Is it just a misprint, you think? Or is this kid really that good? From his videos, he looks good but not one of the top recruits in the county good.

Not sure, because the grades overall are consistent and seem fairly accurate, i.e. Ronald and Tee higher, then Decker, than Nicky (who will be rated lower because he plays QB in high school). We will see when they finally release their detailed rankings, but I have to believe both Ronald and Tee will ultimately be higher ranked than Justin. Not taking away from Justin, as I believe he is a major get at WR and will help us tremendously. I just think both Ronald and Tee are 5 star talents, and Justin is probably more of a 4 star.

It's not making sense to me... If you go to the ND recruiting page or even just search for a recruit the grades show up blank.

Also, if you go to USC's page it lists Jordan Payton as an 80 and Arik Armstead, the #1 recruit in the country on some sites, at an 83.

We had him at a 4.8 40...and I think that is pretty accurate. He needs to work on his speed.

Average Florida WR this year...you never know who is gonna blow up though. All in all it's a good take for you guys I think.

Average Florida WR? Offered by Florida State, Florida, Miami, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin early in the process. I think a lot of you are basing your opinions on this guys offer sheet. It's not deep but it has elite programs. The May evaluation period is just begining so most of these scouting agencies are taking closer looks at a lot of these recruits. Expect lots of ratings to change and also expect this kids offer list to expand. Maybe not as much now that he's committed to ND, but as he gets national exposure, the numbers will certainly increase.

Fans may not be excited because he doesn't have 4.3 speed (Michael Floyd runs about a 4.5/4.6) or an insane highlight film but make no mistake, this kid is a STUD. Big, physical wide reciever with good hands. He's more of a move the chains on 3rd & 5 guy than anything else. Will be a perfect compliment to Davaris on the other side and maybe a Bryce Treggs in the slot.....? It's a huge pick-up so anyone questioning if "we should hold out for more talent...?" should put that arguement/question to rest ASAP.

What would we be holding out for? Caroo...? Haven't offered him so clearly there's an underlying reason. DGB...? Everyone in the countrys number one target at WR. Little chance this happens. Bryce Treggs...? Likes ND but has family ties to Cal and distance factors. I get that everyone likes the big flashy names and maybe we pull one of the guys mentioned above but you don't turn away solid talent like Ferguson (with huge upside) in hopes you can pull bigger fish.

Huge pull for ND. Welcome to the family Justin. Also good to see that he will be an EE.

I've read where he runs between a 4.5 and a 4.6. But with 40 times, you never know. I do agree that he needs to work on his speed. So while he's definitely not a burner, he's a physical WR with very good size and excellent strength, and that is something this offense will need with the departure of Floyd. Don't see how he can be average with the top FL schools all offering (seriously, how many WRs receivers in the state of FL can say that???). Very good pick-up for us.

I've seen the kid play...average D1 FL WR. Florida is lacking a true stud wide receiver, but there are a ton of good WR's. There is nothing sexy about Ferguson, but he is productive and is a possession type WR. Ferguson is probably in the 10-15 range when you rank 2012 FL WR's.

I don't believe any of the big 3 will pursue him that hard due to his speed and the amount of "good WR's". He got a lot of offers and then ran a 4.8 and hasn't heard much from Miami or FSU since then. If you want a Florida WR this is the year to take one because there are quite a bit more than the big 3 will take.

I loved his tape and that's good enough for me. If BK thinks the kid can be a star, I buy it. I love green kool aid.

As mentioned earlier by a couple of other people, this kid is not a blazer by any means, but seems to have really good hands and is a physical specimen. He will do just fine at ND and I for one am very happy about getting him on board.

Before you guys go jumping on him, EliteScouting has posted stuff of Jordan Prestwood and Aaron Lynch before and liked both those players for us (even though Prestwood eventually decommitted). He's seen Ferguson play live, which nobody here has done, and gave an honest opinion, which is welcomed here.

Scouts disagree on players all the time, and no scout is ever always right. Hopefully "Elite" is wrong here and others, including BK and staff, are right. No one will know for a long time. But we can hope for a strong senior season from Ferguson so he can put any doubts about his game to rest...

Nothing at all against you but I don't care if you've seen him play or not. Nothing to do with your post count or "EliteScouting" handle that you've given yourself, but I'll take the assessment of Jimbo, Golden, BK, and Muschamp over yours. Is there 10-15 other WRs that have an offer from all three powerhouses in Florida? Did they not see his speed before they offered him? You can't hide 4.8 speed. Did they offer before they saw his film? I doubt it.

I'll trust BK who signed Counsell and GAIII last year as three stars. They later became four stars but when he offered, they were three stars. By the end of the year, those players got some nice recognition from around the nation.

I trust that the man who made stars out of a 2* RB (Mardy Gilyard) and a 2* WR (Armon Binns) can make a star out of a 3* WR, too.

The coaches know more about these kids and fitting them into their system than anybody else.

sure we would love for all of our wr's to run 4.4 or below but lets face it....there is more to running a fast 40....can they catch good, distance themselves from db's , leaping, and more importantly...run good routes....from what i saw of his film...he had a firm grasp on 4 of them listed above...keyshawn, mike irvin largent etc didn't have blazing speed but made catches! it reminds me of floyd....he isn't blazing past someone...but body positioning and sure hands is what won us the game against USC and many others last year....

If I am not mistaken Jerry Rice ran something like a 4.7 in the 40, and I am not saying Ferguson is the next Jerry Rice but a 40 time is not the end all be all. We'll see how he performs when he steps on campus which is still two years away.
