We have gone after him pretty hard, but just haven't offered him yet. The staff would show him interest anytime they went to see Grace. He has major interest in ND.

Michigan dominating LB recruiting right now. Nicely done. We never offered even though he is a teammate of last year's commit, Jarrett Grace.

So then we still got a shot down the road...

Meh this is a very average recruit and we've got lots of talent at his position + lots of elite prospects on our board still. There is a reason why we never offered.

No, he's not a very average recruit. He's going to be every bit, if not better than Grace. I'm pissed to lose this kid to the skunkbears. He grew up an Irish fan, had we offered he'd have accepted on the spot. If you've noticed, we haven't offered many ILB's in this class.

I'll be scared when they get a DB

They've taken 10 over the past 2 years. Retention is the problem.

Offers from UM, PSU, UTN, WVU (all the major conferences except the Big 12) with the grades, 3.9 GPA, for SU and NW doesn't sound very average at all. In a different year he'd be Irish.

No Ohio State offer, no Michigan State offer, no Nebraska offer. #27 OLB on Scout, not in the top 247 on 247sports.

If you want to argue semantics and say he is "above average"... fine, be my guest. The point is that he is not elite and we have our eye on bigger fish so I will lose no sleep here.

^This. We can be extremely selective @ LB this year and have other fairly glaring needs that we have to address. Bolden could end up a good prospect, but give with a real good shot at Odenigbo, Spence, and Nance.

Grouper will always gets the job done, but when you have a chance to get your mitts on some swordfish, you don't pass that up in favor of grouper.

Love the fishing analogy. In freshwater terms, do you want to catch a bluegill or a steelhead?

Would of loved to hook this guy. I saw personally as more of a Will Linebacker next to Grace in the future as somebody who can cover the field sideline to sideline. Someone said it earlier, Michigan is really having a solid year recruiting linebackers and they're invading Ohio to do so.

Joe Bolden is the feature of an article on MLive's homepage right now. He feels slighted, particularly by ND for not recruiting him, and wants revenge:

"It will be good to walk over and shake the Notre Dame coaches' hands and say thank you for giving me the drive to be even better," Bolden said.

He runs his mouth a little much for my taste in that article, we will just have to see what happens, good luck to him.

...and the fishing analogies continue. Nicely done.

Apparently he wasn't tall enough to be an ND LB and that's why we never offered. Therefore, Brian Kelly is incapable of evaluating defensive talent. So I'm reading on Michigan boards.

I am not so sure that BK is looking for an inside LB in this class. It seems like he isn't recruiting any of them very hard.

Also, I am very curious on how is play is going to be without Jarrett at his side this year.

We've got Te'o, Calabrese, Moore, Utupo, Grace, and Fox all returning next year. We're set.
