There is no way Tressel is the head coach of Ohio State when this is all over. It may take awhile, maybe through 2011-12, but after all the appeals and meetings take place, its inevitable. Much like the Bruce Pearl situation.

Idk, I feel like winning changes everything. If the team struggles this season, he's gone. If they still win 9+ regular season games, he may get lucky and keep his job. I think had Bruce Pearl's Vols played every game like they did in their win versus Pitt and they won atleast one round in the NCAA tournament he might still have his job.

Unfortunately I was watching sports nation and Colin Cowherd said it well. Pete Carroll didn't lie to the NCAA, he didn't know what was going on apparently. They got a bowl ban and loss of scholarships. Tressel knew what was going on, what is the fair treatment for OSU? Fire Tressel? Massive scholarship loss?

Effin' Cowherd... if Pete Carroll didn't lie to the NCAA then i'm Miles Davis.

But if they use precedence as their guide, then the NCAA is going to put the "sweat" in "sweater vest"....

See what I did there? I came up with that on my own. yup :nanana1:

Sneaky Pete also left before anything could happen to him. So it doesn't matter if he knew or not unless he comes back to the college coaching ranks. I would suspect that the NCAA would drop the hammer pretty hard on OSU. That's just me though.

Dunn has apparently decommited from tOSU.

Can you supply a cite for that?

I couldn't find anything aside from the mgoblog premature ejaculation over a post on Bucknuts about some unnamed parents of former St Ed's/OSU players claiming that Dunn and Kalis are through with OSU. There are plenty of Kalis decommitment stories on the recruiting services but not a single Dunn article. Dunn is mentioned in one Kalis article as wavering since April. That's old news not a new fact.

As of this post Rivals, Scout, ESPN, and 247 still all list Dunn as an OSU Verbal. Accordingly I changed Dunn back to an OSU Verbal.

If anyone finds an article confirming a Dunn decommit (and not another circular post of the rumor) please post the cite and I'll change the title as appropriate.

I spent too much time this morning (considering neither Dunn nor Kalis seem to have any real chance at coming to ND) looking for anything on Dunn officially decommiting, and like you found nothing. It is notable that almost everyone on OSU recruiting sites no longer consider him a commit, but there is nothing from Dunn or any other reliable source as of now. Again, the only recent "info" is the Dave Biddle "scoop" on Bucknuts. Who knows, but it seems like it is only a matter of time (several sites reference a possible official decommit within the week).

Kalis, on the other hand, has officially decommited, and could be a Michigan verbal this weekend. There are a lot of rumors he has already committed, but again, we should wait until a reliable report surfaces. He is very close with Strobel, and posters on Michigan boards that claim to be close to the decision state he friended dozens of Michigan players on Facebook and believe be will be committed Saturday.

Thanks for looking. I also doubt there's much possibility but we did offer and appear to be wide open at the the moment. Personally, I'd rather the OSU verbals hold their decisions until mid-season.

Well for what it's worth, people here on campus seem to think he has decommitted.

That article is dated May 30th...

True. He could have changed his mind. But it's from his local paper, and it's the latest article they have on him. He indicated that he was still a Buckeye, even after Tressel's resignation.

“I visited Michigan and I"m going to visit Penn State,” Dunn said. “I’m just keeping my options open at this point. I didn’t think anything was going to happen this soon. I thought maybe something in August and I would wait and see what happens.”
.

That May 30 FridayNightOhio.com piece is consistent with previous reports since the Tressel web of lies unraveled. I'm stayin' but I'm lookin'.

The Bucknuts post about anonymous St Ed's parents rumor is still a rumor. No confirmation.

Thanks for lookin' moose.

Thanks for lookin' moose.

It wasn't any big ordeal. I grew up in N. Canton, OH. Dunn is from Canton. It's the same newspaper, and I usually read the online version once or twice a week. Never know when someone I know might get arrested.

Brionte was featured in last week's "They Said It" section of Sports Illustrated. The quote: "I'm 100% committed...for now". Read: I'd love to go to Ohio State, but if they get banned from bowls, I'm outta here. I think this is a good chance for BK to take advantage of Ohio State's troubles. I plan on seeing a local Glenoak-Fitch matchup here in Canton this fall. It will have two 2012 RB offers battling it out (Brionte and William Mahone).

Rumors flying that he will be a member of Michigan's class before weeks end. Not good for Notre Dame.

My friend's a Michigan fan and he firmly believes it's only a matter of time before Dunn commits to UM.

They have a real shot at Peyton, Banner, Garnett, and Dunn.

They have an outside shot at Yuri Wright, Diggs, and a few others.

Could be special.

I'm guessing he's our Gunner Kiel. Let them have Dunn. Our skill players this year on offense are Greenberry, Ferguson, Brown, and Mahone and lots of REALLY good prospects still considering us. Name a highly rated skill commit for scUM.... Although they have some good guys considering them, NOTHING compared to ND. I'd take ND in this " matchup " any day.
