ND-W-R: this is the sort of thing which tells me a lot. If Cave and the Tackles played generally well [and they are supposed to be the heart of the O, since TRob has disappointed a bit even in his own admission], then Lynch having such a big game means to me that Lynch is just as for real as we hoped and that the studs on the O-line are still a strength.
I have had an unpopular opinion for a long time that several of our youngsters are going to start eventually this season, maybe even at the beginning. Lynch and Nix are two likely ones, although I believe that Tuitt is going to blow everyone away even more. Thank goodness Danny Spond is as good as I hoped, but Ben Counsell is coming too. And most unpopular, Hendrix, or maybe even Golson, takes the QB position by mid-season or earlier. Why?
I listen very carefully to everything that Kelly says. He cannot wait to get "his" system's QB on the field. And he cannot stop himself from wowing about the elite defenders coming in. This is even while he doesn't want to pump them up too much. And well...there are a lot of other reasons. All this is optimism, because I believe that we're VERY good whether the newbies would play or not. But I smell something BIG coming.
