I'm sitting here watching it and can't help but to pull for Tiger. It just seems that the planets are more in alignment when he's on top of his game. Unfortufately, he has some really good young players ahead of him on the leaderboard.

He has just missed 4 birdie putts so far. He is playing much better than his +1 score would indicate.

Looks like an uphill battle for anyone not named Rory. He's playing fantastic...

This is going to be a great back nine to watch. Tiger has largely dominated the back 9 this week and has potential to post a record score.

My wife forced me to the beach today. Now I'm deaf, burnt and missed most of the final round. LOL

It was definitely the best Masters Sunday I've seen in a while, but I was pretty disappointed in the end result. With so many story lines in play (Tiger, Cabrera, Rory, the Australians, Luke Donald, etc.), we end up with a rat-looking nobody winning it. I really wanted to see an eight-way playoff, but once that option was eliminated I found myself hoping Scott would finally break through. I'm a pretty avid golf fan, and I'd never heard of the guy (I started calling him Schnitzer, so I'm just going to keep calling him that) and I'm pretty sure we'll never here from him again. Very anticlimactic.

I, too, was hoping for an octo-playoff. I have no idea how it would have been structured, but I'm pretty damn sure that it would have been fun.

Tiger, et al., made it very, very interesting near the end; especially with Rory's (sad) fold. The end result was deflating, though --- much like many of ND's football games in recent decades.

You not avid if you have not heard of Charl Swartzel, he is one of the most talented young golfers in the world, with probably the best swing to come along in years. Ernie Els and Gary Player would not mentor a young player like this unless they saw huge potential. So.....4 straight birdies to finish a major anticlimatic. It's pretty silly to even say you are sure you will never hear from him again. Rat-looking nobody, come on man, really? Well that nobody has a green jacket at the age of 26. Phil didn't get his until his 30's.

easy tiger. i'm an avid fan of golf too and relatively speaking schwartzel is a no name. not saying he's not talented, but he's not that well known. heck, rory is more well known at 21 years of age than charl. but i can't help but tip my cap to the lad, to birdie the last four holes....that's remarkable.

but oh well, i tend to agree with rhode irish, it was a rather anti-climatic ending. i would've preferred an eight man playoff.

With the hefty amount of dough he raked in yesterday, do you think Charl will break down and buy the (-es) that is suppose to be at the end of his name?

I am a fan of golf, but I don't pretend like I have heard of every player that has ever played a professional tournament anywhere in the world. Look, there were about a dozen possible outcomes as of 4:00 yesterday, and the only one I was truly rooting against was this guy winning. Why? I'm not sure, honestly. He just doesn't look like a guy I could like. I would have preferred to see Tiger make some putts on the back nine and post a low score that others would have had to try to match - that could have changed the way the rest of the leaders played the back. I would have liked to have seen Adam Scott break through finally. Or any Australian win it. Or Luke Donald, who has paid his dues. Or Angel Cabrera, who is hard not to root for. Instead, we get this guy. I would compare it to watching a great mystery/suspense film, then in the last scene they reveal that the villain was someone who heretofore was not part of the plot. That is anticlimactic.

edit: by the way, its Schwartzel, not Swartzel. Mr. I've Heard Of Every Living Golfer.

Sorry to sound like a no it all, it is my job to when it comes to golf. I really wanted Scott to break thru. I just got uppity over the comment about Schwartzel being a no name and we will probably never hear from him again. He is really good and not going anywhere. forgive me for sounding like a golf snob.
