Per Brian Kelly's twitter. Dont know if it has been posted, but thought it was interesting enough to pass along.

Just watched Urban on ESPNU and he was talking about how fired up he was when he heard the Diaco story. Also, he talked about wanting to shake his hand. Maybe he's lobbying for an assistant coaching position. There wouldn't as much stress with that, haha. I've heard that he can recruit a bit.

Brian Kelly was talking about this on UND.com's site earlier during his post signing day interview. He said that him and Urban have a good relationship. I guess it won't hurt for Meyer to be at the clinic.

Maybe one day he will be able to share why he spurned us the first time around, and how he allowed his team to dominate America's Most Wanted for the last 3 years.

Til then, the vitriol remains. Find the Liars Clinic.

He definitely has a ton of credibility with recruits. I'd love for him to lobby for ND in some kind of way

Look at it this way, if Kelly flames out in a couple years Meyer just might be ready to roll.. :)

Urban Liar - retired (a second time) to spend more time with the family.

So he is at ND coaching clinic, sandwiched in between his ESPN gigs.

IMO - this is good for ND, deep down I think Urban still loves ND....

I think so too. I hated when he went to Florida, but it's done. He's a smart guy, did what he needed to do to be sucessful at FLorida. I think at the end of the day he's a decent guy who's smart enough to manage the situation and be successful. Sucked for us though.

Do you guys understand the point of the these camps? anyone?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Its money and a shot to attract the best talent in the country and put them through drills on the field at ND stadium. Getting Urban M to speak is is instant dollar signs for the Football Program.

Its basically a fundraiser for the Athletic Department. Ever major school has one. I have worked at a few before (BC namely). You fly in a stud Jr. and they spend the day with the coaching staff. They are called "one day campers."

I think your point is right on. It is hard to get ND out of your system. Now that he has taken a step back from the craziness Urban probably realized his fondness even more. I think it is really good.

I'm a disciple of Machiavelli when it comes to stuff like this. If Meyer can do somethings [legal] for our program [ex. better publicity in some media, better contact with certain blue chips, sharing inside insight with Kelly et al about what SEC programs are doing, contacts with key high school coaches in Florida, ---etc, you guys can think of some more such by putting your imaginations to it] then I say that as long as we handle the camps in a classy Notre Dame-style way, I'm behind it. When Meyer returns to the ESPN stage, we will have a constant supporter there---and the nationally-proferred "love" can do nothing but help. Kelly knows all this---the perfect football politician.

OMM's take is on point, as usual (that guy never says anything dumb, huh?), as well as a few others'.

I obviously don't know Urban personally, but I know he knows football, I know high school football players know him, and - watching him blush on TV talking about ND today - I believe he's not a bad friend to have.

For sure. Urban and his family have always been and will always be huge fans of Notre Dame. A devout Catholic, and it was his first real coaching job.

I like the decision, Players respect Urban.

The more big names the better.
Brian Kelly is smart enough to understand you can always learn/improve. Meyer would do the same thru Kelly, what can this hurt-absolutely nothing. It shows how Kelly wants to hear the things he knows thru the eyes and ears of another successful coach. Besides I have said all along in 8/10 years Meyer may still end up at Notre Dame.

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, add Chip Kelly to the guest speaker list.
