Not to sound like a Crist basher, but he did miss some throws that were jaw-dropping as well. Though he did throw many more good balls than bad.
i know, but so did tommy rees. and i know he was a freshman, but so was dayne crist, basically. he had never been a full-time starter and was learning a new offense, just like rees was. in the limited time we saw both of them, we saw crist miss some throws and reads, but we saw rees miss some throws and reads as well. i think that can be attributed to lack of experience in both cases. but i saw a lot more promise shown by crist from a physical standpoint, meaning that he made some jaw-dropping throws that many other quarterbacks can't make. i didn't so much see that from rees. i think rees is a good player, but in my opinion he will be nothing more than an above-average game manager.
i don't mean to sound like i'm bashing rees, because i have all the respect in the world for that guy. he benefitted, though, from a good run game and a dominating defense, things that crist didn't really have when he was starting. i'm just saying i saw a MUCH higher ceiling from crist than i did from rees.
just my 2 cents.
