Note: Texas has 22 recruits. 1 is from outside of Texas. And he is from Oklahoma, which may as well be Texas anyway.

That's pretty amazing that they can stay completely in state and have such a solid class.

And people try to argue that Florida, California, etc., are on the same level as Texas in terms of high school football. Those states produce some great players, but a Texas all-state team could win the FCS.

I am not sure I get the logic. UT basically does field the Texas All-State team, and they don't win the NC every year. The Florida schools do just as well, and they have to scratch and claw with each other.

Those are some highly biased rankings. No offense to our recruiting class - it's a great class - but what Florida St. is putting together is terrifying, and Texas and Alabama also have better classes than us.

Still it's nice to see things like this.

The Cali/Texas/Florida debate will rage on... we should all just set it aside on the fact that is pretty clearly the top three in any order...

I will say this though... Cali's private schools (Mater Dei, De La Salle, Oaks, Servite etc...) are hard to compete with anywhere any given year... period... now from there on down??? idk if cali hasthe depth but who knows... the cream of Cali is flagrant though

Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Louisiana, Alabama and the Carolinas would be my next tier.

no doubt... for talent alone you may be throwing the pacific islands in there real qucik too... certainly not in a high school team competitive aspect but n terms of recruiting priority... yeah buddy

... but a Texas all-state team could win the FCS.

Doubtful, Michgian couldn't beat FSC Champion App St.

Texas with 4+ years of owning their state's All-State Teams didn't win the Big XII, or the Big XII South this year. They finished in the cellar.

UTX had the poorest record in the Big XII South winning only 2 conference games with a boatload of talent. Only Kansas won fewer.

That's the big one there...every kid from texas wants to go to austin and if they aren't good enough they go to tech or tcu...florida kids grow up liking miami, florida, or fsu, 3 big fish in a much smaller pond as well.

And then we can put New York in the "this state is so big, how is it so awful at football" tier.

Even if we take out the New York City area, Upstate NY would still be the 8th largest state. Bigger than Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina and New Jersey.

And yet, so few football propects....:(

Makes sense if that's the case, I gotta hard time believing as good as our class currently is that it is better than Texas' or Alabama's

I said the FCS championship, not the NC. My point was not that Florida and California are a joke; they produce phenomenal athletes. I just think the sheer volume of players coming out of Texas is crazy and the athletes coming out of Texas, especially East Texas, is just absurd. I like that we were involved with, and got, some Texas kids this year. We are going to need to be a player in Texas.
