Theater worked out so well for O.J.

Their theater program seems to be such a great picture of what SC is... the program isn't that great... but you are tied in with hordes of Locals and Alums who know someone and boom... just like much in this area, it's the connections you make moreso than what you learn in the program... which is pretty much SC as a whole to begin with...

For me if he chooses another school than us and his reasoning is his interest in acting as reported, or any career another school is better known for than us, I won't be happy for him. He has went about his recruiting better than most others. He obviously is one of the few grounded enough to know football isn't for ever. He is plannng for his future. Good luck I hope you succeed in wherever you decide.

It does seem like they're everyone out there.

At the '98 USC game I sat with the ND player's families and behind me was a guy in an ascot heckling ND throughout the first half (10-0 loss). At one point he leaned forward and said to me, "What I shame you're so bad, I can remember when the Irish were a good team. When was that? It's been so long." I turned and looked eye to eye and said, "About a year or so after The Jeffersons was cancelled (1985)." My ascoted Trojan fan was Franklin Cover who played Tom Willis on The Jeffersons. He was quiet the rest of the game.

He died 8 years later in the Actors Home in Englewood NJ about a dozen blocks from the bar my father owned when I was a wee lad.

I would love to have him. I think he can do great things here. But, if he wants to act maybe LA is the place for him. But, that ND degree looks pretty good everywhere if that acting doesn't work out.

Then again, Stanford is pretty awesome degree too.

Amir will be part of USC's big recruiting weekend. There are tentative plans to announce his commitment on Sunday but those may be put off. Kelly's in home visit could still happen next week. I feel much better about the situation now than i did yesterday

And sadly, it's friggin' gorgeous today and will be this weekend. 80 degrees and sunny...in January. It rained like a monsoon a couple of weeks ago, but of course, they get this type of weather.

Per ESPN:

Four-star RB Amir Carlisle of California, a Stanford commit, will take an unofficial to USC on Saturday (he has already been to Troy on an official) before making his final decision on Sunday from among the Cardinal, the Trojans and Notre Dame.

Carlisle's father tells ESPN Recruiting's Greg Biggins that Amir wanted his folks to get a feel for the USC program, leading Biggins to deduce, "Carlisle has always seemed enamored with USC and it's interesting that he's bringing his parents with him on the visit. It almost looks like he's trying to get their approval to make the switch to USC, and if the athlete was locked in for Stanford, it doesn't make sense that his parents would waste a weekend following him out to Los Angeles."

Hmm ...

But it's not like Amir is visiting from Alaska. He is only a 2-3 hour drive away

Hopefully wants USC to feel hope and then make their feelings crumble like Troy when he heads to ND. Then he can run past them the next 4 years and say "What could've been."

If BK gets a shot before his decision then I still like our chances. As Diaco just proved with Ishaq, it only takes one visit, one statement, one anything to change these kids' minds. His dad seems to be very high on ND unless he was just shoveling **** down our throats with the ISD interview. We will see when it's all said and done. I don't expect him to get much attention with the crew USC is bringing in this weekend. They are hosting one of the most amazing lists' of athletes I have ever seen on one weekend. They are also loaded at RB and WR so I am still very hopefull.

Thank-you sweet baby Jesus!

Eight Pound, Six Ounce, Newborn Baby Jesus, in your golden, fleece diapers, with your curled-up, fat, balled-up little fists pawin' at the air...

Glad to see BK will still get his shot.

What bothers me is that this is just the writers opinion and he passes it off as a quote from the father

Very good player. The ESPN guys said they were very impressed with Amir at the UAAA game. BK knows this guy can be a game changer in his offense.

ESPN is still deeply in their love affair after the Poodle left. It's just, the're always on top now. Its gonna get old sometime soon.

The only thing that bothers me about him and how he went about his recruitment is USC. He appears WAY to good for USC. He seems to be very intellegent.

As long as Kelly gets his chance on Sunday I think we are in good shape. I had previously read that Amir's dad did not want him to be influenced on Sunday and instead just make a decision. So with Kelly now having a visit on Sunday, things are looking up.... is Amir wanting to be an early enrollment?
