'11 NY OLB Ishaq Williams (Signed ND LOI-EE)

Anytime I see a young man battling such a decision, I say "normal". Breaking loose from your "understood environment" should be a bit scary for anyone but an extreme extrovert. Everyone would like a little more control. When it's not obviously going to be that way, a person looks for some security.

That's why friends and coaches need to be family-like to fill that gap. If a young man is not feeling that sort of safe haven, then he will be looking over his shoulder towards "Home". If Notre Dame is able to provide Ishaq with that feeling of family away from home, all the football things swing in our way. We hope that our staff and some of our players are providing that.

This "security" business doesn't play a number one role for a lot of young athletes, but when I see one battling a decision this long, I say, Yep, that's what's going on.

Ishaq will be outstanding wherever he goes. He will be better the better the players are around him [and that's here]. He will have a better chance to win big ball games here than the other prominent contenders. Our academic environment is better. Our "future preparation" is better. Our spirituality is better.

We need to make the young man comfortable with us. After three weeks with the team and "his new buddies", he'll wonder why he had doubts. Come on in, Ishaq, you're welcome by everybody at Notre Dame.

Yeah they start today... my lil bro went back yesterday morning. I do think he has some time to wait though to enroll (e.g. he can miss a couple days).

OK .... I got one final theory on the Ishaq delay.

Maybe the whole "uncertainty" with one of the schools is nothing more then a good excuse to delay his announcement.

Consider the possibility that you are Ishaq and it's the day before you are supposed to make your announcement on NBC and they have been counting on you all week to announce.

The only problem is that you are still not certain on your choice. Some kids would simply tell NBC that I've changed my mind and I'm not ready. Other kids, when faced with what they might feel like is a lot of pressure to stick to the schedule, might feel like they need to give a good excuse so they don't make anyone mad at NBC etc. What better excuse then "uncertainty" at one of the programs.

I realize that this is definitely not the most likely scenario, but I still think it could be a possibility, just like IrishLax had a new scenario that seemed plausible as well.

I don't think anyone really knows what's going on in this situation, but it's a lot of fun to speculate.

I mean I am not trying to be a jerk. Off hand, I would say you have hit the nail on the head.

Speaking of being right on, OMM, you have a serious calling as a second career in college athletic recruiting. I mean it. You are a silver tounged (or fingered) devil, but you stand behind your words, too. I believe integrety sells to those most worth recruiting. You should go for it dude.

After watching the USAAAB and watching Tuitt, Lynch and Williams dominate, I just could imagine them all dominating offenses for the Irish every Saturday for the next 4 to 5 years!!!! Can you imagine these guys, teaming up with Teo!!! What do you think are chances are of landing Lynch and Williams? Or do you think Williams is looking to play DE no OLB and is waiting to see where Lynch goes?

Bradley looks to be the favorite for the Uconn job. I lived in Storrs for years and have many family friends close to the university. They really want Bradley.

I respect this kid alot. He is doing the right thing and not playing any games and being honest through all of this. He is definately an rkg. I really hope ND ends up being his choice. He could be.part of a great future.

All signs seem to be pointing to this kid wanting to go to Penn State and just waiting out the news of what happens to Bradley and some of the staff. If he really wanted ND or Syracuse there really is no reason to not have picked them already. ....he seems like a CLASS ACT kid so I wish him well but I think this ship has already set sail, I think he wants to be closer to home......

Bradley's leaving. This year or next. Missed out on Pitt. Interviewing for UCon this week. If he doesn't get that one, he'll get one next year.

I think ND is very much in this and there are plenty that are predicting him to go to ND. I've a lot of where he's supposedly going from a bunch of different people with great ties to some of these programs and there all different.

I know that most over at scout inc. think he's most likely going to be Irish.

Ishaq is an EE and we should know real soon if he's going to PSU as they started the Spring semester yesterday. IMO he's not at PSU in the next couple of days then he's not gong to be a Lion.

Ishaq is a special individual

Notre Dame would be VERY lucky to have Ishaq for more reasons than just football.

Shaun Williams said Ishaq’s team is in agreement the decision should be based on the school’s quality of education, the strength of its alumni network and the stability of the coaching situation.

If this is true, I would imagine it's down to Cuse and ND. Can't imagine JoPa is still there by the time Ishaq's education is complete.

Ummmm.... education and alumni base? If those are truly his criteria, we are much better shape than I thought.

This is a kid who has his head on straight and is just struggling with a HUGE decision that will affect him for the next 4 years and beyond. I wish him the best and hope he is able to rest easy with his decision.

Good Luck Ishaq!!! Hope to see you in South Bend next season.

I couldn't agree more with this post! I'm glad to see him take his time and make, what is a huge decision for himself whether its ND or one of the other schools.

After reading the article, I want to commend Ishaq and his team on how they are going about making this decision. I will cheer for this kid no matter where he goes because he is the type of kid that I would love to see succeed even if he doesn't choose ND.

Maybe this matters to some recruits and not others, but I've seen PSU ranked as low as #44 and as high as #58 in terms of team rankings for recruiting this year.

Along with everything else that goes into the decision, such as academics, coaching staff, program tradition, etc, I would think that he'd want to come in with some other good players as well.

I used to feel almost certain that he was coming to ND, definitely not so much anymore. I'm going to assume that he's not coming here and allow it to be a pleasant surprise if he chooses ND.

Man, I really hope he comes. I was quite sure he would be Irish earlier, not so much anymore. Best of luck either way Ishaq.
