Why start yet another thread. There are at least two already to this exact topic.

Wow, that's some conjecture.

So today's pizza will be his last bad meal till he get's paid millions of dollars by the NFL before..... Dinner?

Come on now.

Huge mistake by Floyd if true. Absolutely huge. Hope you get a better draft pick than anticipated Mike.

I think we need to consider that while he may have risen given another year, there is a whole lot more room to fall than rise. As said, he hasn't been able to keep healthy a whole year. What says next year is different?

Truth. It's real a risk/benefit kind of thing. I sure as hell hope the Redskins are lucky enough to snag Floyd in the 3rd round.

i cant blame him, hes from a very low income family and he's taking the first chance he has to provide for them. For example, there is a student at my highschool (private school) whose tuition is being paid for by his brother who currently plays in the NFL, he would otherwise be in a public school. I would do the same thing if i were him. Although i wish he could stay longer.

Exactly.

As much as I want him to come back, it's not our place to tell him whether he's making the right or wrong decision (assuming a decision has been made). I'm sure he's considered all of the things we could possibly bring up.

Tate, Clausen, Rudolph, Floyd? It's good that we are getting players of their caliber, but I hate seeing the recent trend here of leaving early. Best of luck to MF if he goes, it was fun while it lasted!

It's not a ND trend, it's just the way of the NCAA right now.

I hate the recent trend of our Quarterbacks being played their rookie year and not being any good.

well yeah its conjecture but...what else would he be talking about? I mean ...he could just mean last bad meal before a good meal tomorrow morning ehm...but I'm pretty hyper right now so..don't blame for things I type!

With the talk of salary caps for rookies being possible next year it makes it hard for some juniors to stay.

Well look at Demaryius Thomas last year. People liked his potential, and granted he was ranked behind Dez as no. 2 by enough services, but no one saw him going at 22. Then the Broncos swoop in and grab him because they like him. This was a guy that had an ankle injury and didn't attend the combine.

While I think it would have been a better move to come back, I'm not naive enough to think I know what is best for Michael Floyd. If he thinks he should go then he should go--I wish him the best of luck.

It is a heavy year with wide outs so hopefully he'll be able to have a terrific combine and climb the rankings. He's not going to blow anyone away with his forty time, so he'll have to display all the other skills he has. He is a great wide out, and he deserves to be up there with all of these other guys coming out, it just boils down to his injuries.

Who knows, maybe someone will love him like the Broncos loved Thomas. I doubt it, but it's possible. Wide Receivers are too plentiful.

This is a terrible financial decision on his part. In 2008 the average guaranteed money for a third round pick was $668,000.00. He can get insurance for next year that will pay more than that, and drastically improve his draft stock if he stays healthy and come out in a class with fewer big name receivers.

His best case scenario is to end up in St. Louis in the second round (which would be 45th overall or so). That would give him a great young QB, but I suspect they are going to take a receiver in the first round.

He does not want to end up like Golden Tate, who is not looking good for having a productive NFL career.

If this is accurate it is a big mistake.

Yeah...because that kind of insurance plan is free/easily affordable? And he'd only get a payout from the plan if he got injured, meaning he probably should have left.
