What paraphernalia of Notre Dame do you own? Any rooms, areas, or spots decorated in Irish? Anything interesting or with a special story?

I have a grandfather clock that is completely filled with the majority of my Irish paraphernallia. A small office my kids use as a tv room has cieling tiles with alternating Gold and Blue to sport the Irish theme. Even one of my dogs, a Pug, has a ND embroidered scarf with 'TITO' also stiched in (his name)

I have a ticket from the 1931 Notre Dame-Southern Cal game which I took from my grandmother's house after she died so my incorrigible, and protestant, aunts and uncles couldn't have it. :) Unfortunately Notre Dame lost and the game it is considered to be the game that launched Southern Cal into the elite of college football.

I have a Lou Holtz autographed football that reads "Notre Dame will be #1 - Lou Holtz." I'm still waiting Lou.

I have an autographed hat from Paul Hornung. Pretty neat to have.

I've got a ton of stuff I've collected over the years. Two "unique" things are:

1. Back in my former life, I owned a tavern. One of my regular customers was a construction worker, and he was working on the Stadium expansion. Despite tight security, he was able to pilfer one of the bricks from the old Stadium, and knowing I was an alum, he gave it to me (Notre Dame was guarding these like gold, of course, because they later sold them). The problem was, how was I going to be able to prove where it came from? I created a "Certificate of Authenticity" detailing the time, date, circumstances, of the theft, and he signed it with notarization. Unfortunately, I lost the certificate. But, I still have the brick.

2. In 1952, Life magazine ran an article titled "The Fighting Irish Look Tough Again." There is a picture of priest sitting in the empty stadium, and close-up shots of four ND players. In the pictures, the players appear to be missing one or more teeth (they were blacked out for the pictures). My uncle, also an ND grad, had this article blown-up, photographed, and framed for me. It's like 18 x 24. He told me he remembers when this happened, and it really raised a stink. Notre Dame was none too happy that Life published those pictures, because it made the Irish players look like a bunch of thugs.

When I was born my grandmother decided that I needed a Notre Dame bedroom. Therefore my entire bedroom growing up was done in Notre Dame boarder, and wallpaper. I have a signed picture of Lou, and another of Ron Powlus.
I also have a 7Up bottle, that is full, that is from the 1977 National Championship season. It has the schedule of all the games, with scores including the bowl victory. I found that at a garage sale. Of course, as any Irish fan, Anything Notre Dame I try to get my hands on.

I have several hats. I have a four horsemen t-shirt I bought from the bookstore on my only trip to south bend before the 06 season. Have a green Jearsey number 89 i found at a truck stop in Ina IL and had to pick it up. I have a green shirt I got in 04 its got so many holes because I wore it underneath my shoulder pads every game after I bought it. Have another shirt my old high school's basketball coach picked up for me from the Pitt game this year so I have a lot of ND stuff.

I have an autographed Quinn mini-helmet, and an official ball from last year's Michigan Notre Dame game. The ball was kicked out to the stands by a Notre Dame player, and one of my friends was a the game, and managed to stuff it under his shirt and bring it back for me.

^the official game kicked ball would be pretty sweet. The only game used item I have is a addidas are sweat band from last years OT win vs Wash. We were in the 2nd row of the OT endzone. It is the only game we have taken the boys to and a player threw his arm band into the stands and my son caught it.

Don't have it yet, but I have a client who played on the '77 championship team. Every time I see him I try to talk him into trading that big ol' National Championship ring for fees. So far, he hasn't needed that much of my help. But I am patient.

When my brother was 18, he met Gerry Faust. He had a ND banner signed for me. I was 12 y/o. My brother died when he was 19. I cherish that banner it sits above my computer at my desk.
When I look at that banner I think of my brother and ND.

Keep The faith !

Ya, the kicker was warming up, and they couldn't get the net up high enough. the first one went over, and a guy in the stands held it up triumphantly only to have security come and snag it from him. The exact same thing happend again with the same result. After that my friend happened to catch the next one and promplty stuffed it under his shirt. People were offering him money right then and there for it, and he acted as if nothing had happened.

I had a thought some time ago about getting a Notre Dame totem pole made. Haven't decided the size or whats to be on it yet. Figured it would be a long lasting corner statue for years. Now any suggestions as to what to put on it? I was thinking Touchdown Jesus on the bottom with whatever else I have put on it above his open arms. I want it ND football based and I want it kid friendly, meaning not arms or anything hanging off that are easily breakable (maybe more carved in or on it)

I think this would be fantastic! There are a few people who have them around my neighborhood here in Iowa, but they are weird and super creepy! One is of dogs and cats, and no, I'm not kidding!

You'd have to have some four horsemen, the ND insignia, the Grotto, the Golden Dome, Manti. There are so many combinations that it boggles the mind!

There is a local house I drive past daily who does wood carvings out of logs, and thats what gave me the initial idea. At this point I'm thinking the ND logo, TD Jesus, possibly a flat square with all the championship years carved in (and room for our future ones to be added), the Golden Dome(not in that order top to bottom) and thats just a start. I worry about things such as Manti or the Four Horsemen or anything with that small detail turning out how I would want it. And the size I just cant figure our. I don't want it short and skinny, yet 7 foot tall and the size around of an average adult, is almost to big.

*edit* and of course a Play Like A Champion Today sign

I honestly think for a totem you have to go big though. I would think 6' or 7' would be the way to go.

I agree with the detail thing though. TD Jesus alone would probably be the way to go. That's a totem I would put in my front yard. Some of those guys are artisans. Truly amazing what a guy can do with a chainsaw!
