This guy reminds me of Javier Arenas. I believe he will be that kind of player in the return games. We could really use an explosive player on punts and kicks. I wonder where he will play other than that. I can really see him in the slot or possibly on defense with that speed, depending on cover skills I'd love to see him play corner.

Hmm... well I never thought we had a good shot at him until recently... wonder what kind of effect this will have on Savon. My big three are all still there so I won't fret. Let's go Carlisle, Scarlett and Ishaq.

He said that he wouldn't go there unless they signed big time recruits. Does this men Savon is going there?

I know a lot of you dont like the fbook thing with recruits but you guys have to hear this. Since I cant share the video on here I will quote a video Miles posted to his fbook 5 hours ago.

"Whats up Savon. I just wanted to let you know I'm going to Rutgers and you need to stop playing and come along too so we can do our Jersey thing and win a National Championship man. Lets go alright?"

A national championship? Really? Is that what they are selling? I'm sorry but I dont care if they get Savon or not, they have no offensive line and they wont get out of the basement of the Big East. They are terrible on defense and have no shot of winning a BIG EAST title, nevermind a national title.

I think I just puked in my mouth. Seriously, wtf? He really bought into that crap? Wow.

On the flip side, other teams' fans have been saying the same things about us when we get recruits for this past decade. It's not like we've set the world on fire, especially these past 4 years. However, unlike Rutgers, things are looking up for us.

For me, this is a big loss, primarily b/c of his speed. He'd immediately be the fastest guy on our roster. But before you go flipping out guys, he chose his hometown school, which is appealing to these kids for many reasons...what are you going to do? He chose the easy way out IMO, but Rutgers had been recruiting him for YEARS while BK hadn't even been here. If I'm BK, I keep on him and Carlisle both and try to flip them. Hopefully we get one of them...

NDinLA..spot on as usual...

I wanted either Shuler or Amir...I will admit I wanted Shuler more...since he is a tad faster...however Amir is more realistic...because of the Atkinson connection.

I would be very happy if we could ink our current class wth the addition of Amir, Williams, and Scarlett.

I think we will land Amir in the end. Mike Frank from ISD also feels this way. He was very patient in waiting for an offer from ND and always showed interest. Miles Shuler hurts based on what NDinLA already pointed out but if we land Amir, we will be ok. It may hurt the worst with other recruits like Savon Huggins. I wonder if he will follow through with his visit on January 29th?

IMO if you (as a recruit) go to a place like Rutgers....you have to look at the supporting cast...you can run the fastest 40 in the nation however if you don’t have the line to block and make holes....your hosed!! He must be pulling a Prestwood...and wants to stay near home....

Wish him the best...at least he has a upright young man by not committing and then de committing...

Err yah.. Rutgers can't even compete in the BigLeast.. NC? Keep dreaming. Schiano has about run his course and once Paterno steps out at PSU he'll be moving in to StateCollege, PA.

Shuler would've been a nice addition to the team because of his speed...oh well move onto the next one Kelly. Good luck to the kid.

Too bad we couldn't pull this guy from NJ because he has some freakish speed for sure. Best of luck to him at Rutgers.

I feel kinda bad for this kid.

Even if Rutgers went undefeated, they would not make a NC if 2 teams from either the Big Ten, ACC, SEC, Big 12 or Pac 10 go undefeated as well. ND would make it if they were undefeated. It would just suck to not be in the driver's seat if what you really want is to win a NC.

How long will Schiano be the coach when they continue to play this way? He has had his recent success, but this last year was terrible. I think he will be under the microscope in 2011/2012.

Year Team Overall Conference Bowl/Playoffs
2001 Rutgers 2–9 0–7
2002 Rutgers 1–11 0–7
2003 Rutgers 5–7 2–5
2004 Rutgers 4–7 1–5
2005 Rutgers 7–5 4–3 L Insight
2006 Rutgers 11–2 5–2 W Texas
2007 Rutgers 8–5 3–4 W International
2008 Rutgers 8–5 5–2 W Papajohns.com
2009 Rutgers 9–4 3–4 W St. Petersburg
2010 Rutgers 4–8 1–6
Rutgers: 59–63 24–45
Total: 59–63

considering he took Rutgers from total irrelevance, I would think it would take at least three 4-8 seasons before they would even consider firing him.

Very interesting. I kinda like Rutgers so I wouldn't mind seeing Huggins go there and destroy some weak Big East defenses.

ISD reports that while he considered still taking his visit to ND, he has decided against it and is happy with his choice of Rutgers. He mentioned that he didn't want to play in the spread.

this is also the kid who said,
"Whats up Savon. I just wanted to let you know I'm going to Rutgers and you need to stop playing and come along too so we can do our Jersey thing and win a National Championship man. Lets go alright?"

...after committing to RU. He can't possibly believe that can he? I'm pretty sure you can't win the National Championship if you can't win the Big East.
RU could go undefeated and they still probably wouldn't get in the game.
