what i read on another site is that Tuitt erased all the comments about Auburn...and kept the ND comments...read into that as you will

I also heard he went for half a day, came back "early" and said the visit went "good." Judging by the fact that almost all recruits say their visit went "good" as a baseline... I'm feeling pretty solid right now.

Tuitt and Hegarty are 1 and 1A in terms of importance to this class. We've got some good talent on offense and just need those playmakers in the trenches. Cannot wait to see Nix, Shembo, Kona and Tuitt on the DL in two years.

If the above two posts are accurate then I think we're solid. He and Hegarty are the lynchpins of this class, if we're going to play a 3-4 we need an end like him. Imagine a line with him, Nix and Kona in the future, with Shembo and Williams attacking off the edge. That's a vicious attacking offense.

Yes do get II and just stated that 11 of the 12 visitors got interviewed by Auburn's rivals with the 12th being the before mentioned. It was just a dumb title to that post also states you might not here an interview from ST until the AAB. No hard stuff yet!

They change it to soft whenever a committed recruits goes on another visit.

Apparently rivals now has him listed as a "soft verbal"--don't like the way this is headed

That means absolutely nothing new. Right now, all we can do is wait for an interview or some new information to come out. I personally think he stays Irish. I'm hearing a lot of conflicting information both ways right now. Most of the pro-Auburn information appears to have no verifiable roots right now and the pro-Irish information is based on the length of his visit and the lack of interview detail/information on Tuitt. Someone here also said that he deleted all of the pro-Auburn stuff off his Facebook. If I was a betting man, I;d bet on him staying Irish.

Rivals may have simply changed him to a soft verbal because he took the visit. That's our best case scenario. If he deleted all the pro-Auburn stuff off his facebook I'm still confident. Kelly and Diaco have to get down to Georgia asap and meet with him again.

According to ISD Tuitt is still committed to ND and will also take a visit to GT. He told the coaching staff of his intentions to just make sure that ND is the place for him and they told him they were ok with it for him to take visits. According to the article the trip was just "alright" it didn't blow him off of his feet.

Here are some quotes:

“It went alright,” said the Monroe star. “It was just another visit. It didn’t knock me off my feet.”

“I’m still committed to Notre Dame,” explained Tuitt. “But after the season I realized February 2nd was right around the corner. I just want to make sure this is the best decision. I still love Notre Dame.”

GO IRISH!

I hope this is accurate, if so everything sounds good from him.

I absolutely respect 1000% the way he is handling this. Heck, both my parents went to ND, getting in early action was the happiest moment of my life to this point, and I still flopped back and forth about maybe going to Dartmouth or Cornell and visited both. Considering football recruiting is probably a million and a half times more stressful than minor sports... I totally understand him taking these officials to make sure he's making the right choice.

Best of luck to Tuitt no matter where he ends up. Thanks for the update Gixxer.

I chose between Oxford and the Sarbonne, Harvard was my back-up. I know exactly how Tuitt feels as well.

Not to be a ****, but I'm actually talking about sports recruiting and making a legitimate point. Thanks though.

I had to choose between accepting the Democratic nomination for Vice President of the United States and being on of the original Mercury astronauts. My "backup" was flying around the earth faster than the speed of light in order to save my girlfriend from dying in a car accident.

Sports aren't the only thing that can make picking college hard, I completely fail to see how what he said is any different.

Because he and Irish Houstonian are being sarcastic. Well, at least it really really seems like they are.

Feeling pretty good about his visit actually. He said that he would sign with ND if NSD was tomorrow

From over on one of Auburn's sites:

"I'm still committed to Notre Dame, but I am looking around," Tuitt said. "A school would have to sweep me off my feet, if they did that I have a feeling I'd move them to the top. I just have to make sure about my decision, because signing day is right around the corner."

He also said that AU was a top notch visit and they gave him a lot to thing about down the road. He will take one more official to Ga Tech and then make a final decision. "I'll probably take one more visit to Georgia Tech after the bowl game," Tuitt said. "I'd switch my commitment if the feeling was right, but I think I probably won't be switching."

I believe that this young man is going to stick with ND. I do respect that he is making 100% sure of his choise. These are difficult decisions for many of these young men.

There is not one thing that Tuitt has done which has been disprespectful to ND or the staff which recruited him. He is just confirming his final choice. We should all just respect that.

Stephon, we are geeeked to see you in South Bend and hope you remain. Please know that the choice you made is a great one. Good Luck and we hope to see you in a gold helmet at ND>

I agree with this as well. He is a huge get for us and there is nothing wrong for making sure he made the best choice for him. I'm looking forward to NSD already because I want this kid badly and the rest of our recruits we have on board.

Couldn't agree more. I think it's better to remove any inkling of doubt NOW, rather than have it fester and boil and ultimately lead to him transferring down the road because he wasn't sure he made the right choice. I think he has proven that at the end of the day, not only will he have handled this in a very respectable manner, but he will also make the right choice for HIM. Hopefully that choice is the one we fans want to see him make!

Would be very nice to get him back on campus one more time after everybody makes their pitch. With him we have a very solid defensive class and without him it's just average and like the last several Weis recruiting classes...he is a huge get just to start recruiting on defense like the good ole days.

Georgia Tech scares me here. Great academics and early playing time and much closer to home.

Good academics, playing time on par with ND and much closer to home. GT was supposed to be his early leader before he committed to ND. I think a flip to the Yellow Jackets would be totally understandable, however, we are definitely in the driver's seat here. I think a commit from a premier guy like Ishaq Williams would do wonders for us.

GT does scare me as well. We really need this kid badly and I know he will do well with us. GT's close proximity to home may play a factor but I am hoping we keep his commitment and he wears blue and gold next year.
