I understand but it's only a 2 1/2 hour drive from Monroe Area to Auburn. He probably went there after the game or is on his way driving there now. If he is still going that is.

From what I read over at II, a poster who follows recruiting as much if not so more than us said his good friend Ray Drew asked him to tag along. Also that Auburn is recruiting him as an OT. I don't feel that Tuitt is going to back off of his commitment from us. JMO.

He has treated us with respect and has went thru this process proper. Some of our actual decommits haven't. At this point he deserves the benefit if the doubt from us. And either way I wish him the best. He doesn't deserve us acting like he's a girlfriend we're stalking because we think she's cheating.

Yup I could not agree more. I believe the thing that irks people the most about decommits is usually the way they do it... not the fact that they do it. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I think he stays Irish, but if he ends up at Auburn I will wish him best.

I'm also going to laugh my *** off if we land Scarlett and Ishaq and Carlisle and end up with a much better class then we had before the couple decommits.

I agree with that. The way kids decommit bothers me more than anything. The Clay burton decommit bothered me because he lied and used to Notre Dame the whole time. That's classless. The Prestwood decommit didn't really bother me. If he wants to stay close to home then whatever.

As far as Tuitt is concerned, Auburn really doesn't bother me because of what they are recruiting him for. I don't think he wants to play OT. Ray Drew is not even committed to Auburn so I don't know how hard he will be pulling at him. Drew may have just wanted company. The idea of them playing together was appealing when they we're talking about DEs on the same team. Notre Dame is recruiting Tuitts actual best friend and highschool teammate. I think we will keep Tuitt.

I saw that article as well...still left the door open IMO. Just like Huggins was supposed to be there (and no showed) I am looking for confirmation he is there from a newer article.

Same. I have yet to see any confirmation of him being on campus today since the coaches visited yesterday.

if he's going to flip hopefully he does it right away instead of dragging it out and being dramatic about it. i'm so sick of losing defensive linemen.

Well there are people all over his facebook telling him to have a safe trip to Auburn. Take that for what it's worth but it's there. I really would not be worried about this kid. I would be overly shocked even if he takes this visit, if he flips. I'll search for a current article on his visit but I doubt we will see anything until Monday.

Just another side note: His highschool teammate opposite him on the DL, Kendarius Whitehead, might be taking an unofficial visit with Stephon and is very high on Auburn. That doesn't help.

Tuitt is tagging along with Drew to Auburn in exchange for Ray to take a trip to South Ben?

I know its a long shot but wishful thinking...

He guys dont take me wrong I am not the grim reaper but Auburn will get their hooks in any prospect and they have their ways. Let me ask you this-do you ever think you will see a Notre Dame QB have a super game and go to the students and stand on the wall like Juius Ceasar? The answer is never-that culture is what you are up against in todays world. I lived down there for 2 years and I know what I am talking about. Its not that the SEC or Auburn is evil its the fact that they promote football as a spectacular in the minds of the recruits rather than a means to an end. Its the difference between saluting the fans and being saluted. Factor in what they have been speculated on and its easy to understand. They also have the national media looking the other way relating to the college experience. My opinion is these things had something to do with Urban Meyer leaving. It is a dirty business in the SEC. Once again I will remind everyone that the SEC does not care what the nation thinks of their student athletes-only that they win championships at all cost!!!!!!! The sad thing is this example-Alabama had a wide out that was injured 2/3 three years ago and was a full scholarship player-he's now a bank tellar. There's nothing wrong with being a bank tellar but I would not be going to college with my sites set on that career. Thats what happens at these places when they dont hit the golden goose at pro level.

Are you referring to Tyrone Ploethero (sp)? He had some amazing catches for them and I thought he was only a sophomore. He broke his ankle very badly if I remember correctly.

I've seen this story before, and I don't like how it ends, those southern boys are tough to lure out of the south.

OC-yes he's the one. I didnt think anyone would care for knowing the name but you are on it. Sad thing is they will say they wouldnt change a thing-the culture is hard to break. I'm sure he thought he was going pro or going to land a better job. You dont go to college to be a bank tellar. My apologies to all the bank tellars of the world.
