Can't wait to see who ND will play, and watch.

Keep on truckin'...

But you already know who, right? And you knew I would ask this, so you've already answered me... So where do I look?

* Nevermind, found it... Thanks.

Sources close to the Band of the Fighting Irish (my son :)) say the Band is arranging travel to Florida immediately after Christmas. FWIW.

Vegas bowl is now out of the question. They just picked up the Utah Utes... Looks like maybe Nevada if they can't get Boise St.

Yup, Vegas bowl is out. From ISD:
Utah accepts invitation to Las Vegas Bowl. There's one bowl possibility you can now cross of Notre Dame's list.

Here are the payouts and more discussion on our bowl bid:
Best shots for bowling | Inside the Irish

Looks like Wash St. wins = Holiday
West Virginia and UConn wins = Sun
UConn looses and WV wins = Champs

my 0.02 cents...

I really don't care we go at this point. I just want a decent game to watch and a win, whether it's at the Champs, Sun or Holiday Bowl. It would be one thing if this were a BCS bowl, but it's not and I am just happy to be bowling this year. A month ago we all had doubts as to whether we would even be around for a bowl and here we are at 7-5 and things are looking very bright. Wherever we play..., we just need another win. I want to go where we have the best chance to win and continue this nice momentum.

Interesting. The location of the Holiday bowl is nice but I'd like to avoid playing a highscoring team like Oklahoma St.(scored 40 on Nebraska and OU). My 1st preference would be the Sun Bowl vs. Miami.

Can't the Champs Sports Bowl Committee just go ahead and select MIAMI? Isn't their selection the 3rd choice of an ACC team? That would be the biggest draw PERIOD.

3rd best rather than 3rd overall pick, I believe...

Im thinking based on what info's out there on other bowls, its the order of choice...especially since there's so much deliberation involved. Otherwise it would be much more cut and dry IMO

Huh. Could be...

I just need to know soon, so I can either hock my Sun Bowl tickets or get hotel reservations at the same establishment to host the Irish.

Your right, if the draw was there, they could slight Maryland and NC State and go with Miami (all are 5-3 in conference so technically "tied" with these bowl executives mumbo jumbo talk). ESPN, the know it alls..., even said so:

The Champs Sports Bowl is the one that will determine how the rest of the selection process unfolds this year. If it doesn’t take Maryland – a deserving, eight-win team, it’s quite possible the Terps still fall as far as the Military Bowl. While an uneventful “home game” in a lower-tier bowl isn’t fair to Ralph Friedgen’s team considering the turnaround it has had this year, ticket sales still remain a driving factor in the selection process, and attendance in Byrd Stadium has been lacking. Again.

How bowls view Miami’s status with interim head coach Jeff Stoutland will also be a factor, but odds are the program’s national brand will still make the Canes an attractive pick.
Bowl-look-112810 - College Football Nation Blog - ESPN

The West Virginia and UConn games will determine our selection, which will inturn determine the ACC team selected.

I talked with a friend at Florida Citrus Sports today and she told me not to be surprised if ND still gets an invite despite a West Virginia win. I guess there is a big push from the majority of board members to get ND to Orlando.

Interesting. Does anyone know what kind of deal bowls like the Champs usually get with ESPN? It would seem to me that if their compensation is an any way tied to TV ratings then ND would be a shoo-in.

I live in Texas and would love the Irish to be closer to me.....but I think Orlando might be closer to me than El Paso anyways...and take it from me.....you don't want to be anywhere around the Mexican Border right now....

UCONN beat them head-to-head. So they'd go.

gotcha but if UCONN loses at USF they are 7-5 and if WVU wins at home against a struggling Rutgers WVU to go 9-3 will they go to the Orange Bowl? If so we should root for this.

Yeah in that case WVU goes to the Orange Bowl and UCONN is probably not taking our place in the Champs Sports Bowl.

Definitely possible since USF just knocked off Miami. They might be surging at the right time.
