I am hoping and praying for San Diego, San Francisco, or Vegas. I will NOT be passing up a chance to see the Irish in a bowl game this year.

If we go to Vegas, we must have an IE gathering in Sin City. That could be very dangerous!

As a realist who has watched OU play a ton this season... The Sooners would most likely **** stomp us... I see nothing that makes me feel good about that amtchup on either side.

Great, did you see them almost get beat by Utah St, Air Force, Cincinnati and a 5-7 Texas team. We all seen them beat up on Okla St, but that is a rivalry game with the world watching. I love our D and our chances against either team. But too be fair I loved our chances in everygame since 1990, so what the #### do I know.

Look back a page to my previous post....the Holiday bowl will not get Oklahoma or Nebraska. This bowl selects 4th out of the Big 12 teams. Neither team from the title game will fall that far. If we went to this bowl it would be vs. either Oklahoma St or Missouri.

If we go to the Kraft Fight Hunger bowl, it will be vs. Boise St.

If we go to the MAACO Lav Vegas bowl, it will be vs. the MWC and likely be Utah (again).

If we go to the Champs Sports bowl, it will be vs. NC St, Miami, or Maryland.

If we go to the Sun Bowl, it will be against the next team selected in the ACC..so whichever team the Champs bowl does not take listed above and maybe Clemson.

As of right now, I do not see any other likely options for us. The Hawaii bowl a couple years ago came out of nowhere as a surprise so it could happen again. I agree we should take a bowl game with the idea of using it as a showcase for more winning, not back to losing. Also date and location will be important. Here are some of the bowls with the rest linked below.

Las Vegas Bowl - Las Vegas, NV - Mountain West vs. Pac-10 December 22 8 pm ET ESPN
Champs Sports Bowl - Orlando, FL - ACC vs. Big East December 28 6:30 pm ET ESPN
Holiday Bowl - San Diego, CA - Big 12 vs. Pac-10 December 30 10 pm ET ESPN
Sun Bowl - EL Paso, TX - ACC vs. Pac-10 December 31 2 pm ET CBS
Kraft Bowl - San Francisco, CA - Pac-10 vs. WAC January 9 9 pm ET ESPN

Vegas Bowl said they would bump Utah if they could get ND here... And no I don't have a link for that.

I am almost 100% certain it won't be the Champs Sports bowl. I don't think they want to blow their 1 time in the 4 year deal to pull ND.

Agreed. I think both sides feel that way. Save it for a ranked ND team who is 8-4 or 9-3 and short of the BCS.

If the bowl game is later, do they get any more practice time or is there just a bigger void in between bowl practice from regular season?

The Sun and Holiday bowl would be good because of the name. The Kraft Fight Hunger (Jesus Christ! TERRIBLE name) would be good because then I wouldn't start my post-season depression until mid January. :) But the Champs Sports Bowl is still my favorite.

Yeah you can thank corporations for that one (it used to be called the Emerald Bowl).

As far as practice time goes, bowl eligible teams are allowed 15 practices. It is similar to spring practices in that it does not matter what days are practice...the limit is 15.

There are multiple reasons, including getting all 15 practices in, why I do not feel the Las Vegas bowl is a good idea. With our finals schedule finishing less than a week before I feel it is highly unlikely anyway we will want to go to this one. Kelly has stated they will not practice this week and sparingly during finals week. A later bowl is a must to assure we exhaust the allowed coaching during practice to grow our team for this game and next year.

I also agree the Champs Sport bowl is not a great idea but not a bad one. We may be handcuffed to it if West Virginia and UConn loose and look bad doing it. I still say a favorite of mine is the Holiday Bowl. Oregon and Wash St. win and it will happen. I would like to play Missouri. In their 4 road games this year they are 2-2 and their schedule does not impress me besides the obvious win against #1 Oklahoma and then wins @ A&M + a ranked K State. Their complete schedule:

Missouri Football - Tigers News, Scores, Videos - College Football - ESPN
W Illinois 23-13 1-0 (0-0)
W McNeese State 50-6 2-0 (0-0)
W San Diego State 27-24 3-0 (0-0)
W Miami (OH) 51-13 4-0 (0-0)
W Colorado 26-0 5-0 (1-0)
W @ Texas A&M 30-9 6-0 (2-0)
W #1 Oklahoma 36-27 7-0 (3-0)
L @ #14 Nebraska 31-17 7-1 (3-1)
L @Texas Tech 24-17 7-2 (3-2)
W #24 Kansas State 38-28 8-2 (4-2)
W @Iowa State 14-0 9-2 (5-2)
W Kansas 35-7 10-2 (6-2)

8 home games and only 4 road games is unreal...talk about unfair. lets beat 'em

I don't think it matters who the opponent is, Notre Dame's offense will have to come to play. Nothing can be taken for granted with Rees; he's played admirably, but he's not the quarterback who will lead this team to a win.

I'm very good friends with very good friends (if that makes since) of Missouri's Gary Pinkel. I would rather not root against him. haha

BK has said that Ian would be back, Riddick should be good, TJ should be good, I think that's about it. No Kyle, No Dayne, No Armando.

I'm from Kansas City, and I have seen Missouri play, I want nothing to do with Mizzou, their defense is awesome.
