I'm really happy for Toma. Here is a fine example of a kid who has taken advantage of his situation and has put himself in position to really help his team out when it needs him the most. We have been pummeled by injuries, and Toma has stepped in and has risen to the occasion thus far. I am really hoping that he continues to make plays and continue to develop.

Odds are he plays a decent amount of time tomorrow too. I really like him, tough

I will admit that he has far exceeded my expectations. With the subpar punt return game, I am not sure why we would not try a guy like him. He is tough and has that make you miss factor. Reminds me of Joey Getherall.

Speaking of that I noticed Hayseed is listed as the back up punt returner this week.

I think every pass he caught against Tulsa went for a first down.

Toma's electric. Speed, elusiveness, hands. A great replacement for Riddick in the slot. Riddick needs a breather in 2011? Put in Toma.

I love Toma, but i feel like the guy BK is going to involve more and more is Bennet Jackson, and, with the injury and possible transfer/long recovery, im thinking about getting a new user name about Bennet. hmmmm maybe i could use his initials?

Toma has shown he can handle the pressure play him every game if you want to win.

Count me as one who agrees, Toma > Goodman.

I really think Goodman is all that uh good (excuse the pun). Hes looks to me like a big Frankenstein thats very awkward on the field. He doesn't seem very fast or very athletic.
Toma on the other hand seems to have a lot of passion and heart to be out there. Hope he has a big game tomorrow!

Wow, I guess I'm the only one whose not sold yet.

Don't get me wrong, I thought Toma looked great against Tulsa...but I also thought Goodman looked great the first time he got into a game this season (Stanford?). Personally, I think Toma could be better in the slot but I'd much rather have Goodman on the outside. So no better or worse, just different. If Toma continues to be automatic against better defenses who have seen him on film, then I will change my tune.

I'm not sold yet either. I like him in the slot if we're playing TJ Jones and Floyd on the outside... but I like Goodman over him for sure for anything on the line of scrimmage. They each have strengths, but I will say I like the fact that Toma has yet to drop a pass whereas Goodman has hands of stone occasionally. I think you use both situationally.

I think it helps that Rees throws a much more catch-able ball then Crist does, especially on the short routes that Toma was owning against Tulsa. All of our receivers were struggling holding on to the rockets Crist was firing before he went down.

FoSho .... if Toma keeps up the great work, he definitely could become the next great solid smaller receiver at ND. I know the NFL and most fans love the that Big Wide Out or a steady balance receiver like a Derrick Mayes, Malcolm Johnson, Javin Hunter, Michael Floyd, Jeff Samardzija, Bobby Brown, David Givens, Omar Jenkins, Rhema McKnight, Maurice Stovall etc....etc.... i could go on and on, but what about the little guys ??!! We have been so lucky at ND that we always seem to find that little guy either in height or weight that turns out to be a solid addition to the ND program and football team. Guys like Emmett Mosley, David Grimes, Matt Shelton, Joey Getherall, and the best of all Golden Tate. I definitely like Bennett Jackson but i think him and Toma can play off eachother and burn some DB's in the backfield on some deep outs ......

if i was in charge of tomorrows game i would go with the gameplan of having Floyd as the Flanker, Jones as the Split End and share time in the slot between Jackson and Toma, and throw Goodman in there when someone (Floyd/Jones) needs a play off.

Ok Goodman had 1ok game since then he has done nothing but drop ball and fumble. HE should not be on the field let alone on the side line.

Guys, let's not overlook the fact that Toma has played in 5 games this season, and has 7 catches. I like Toma, and I have no problem with people who want to see more of him. But it's not like the kid has been so productive that you have to find a way to get him on the field more.

IrishinSyria: Personally, if I was going to call for a receiver to get more playing time this year, I would say something like: we get good Karma with Kamara. I thought he looked really solid against Navy.

Beauty game by Duval, 2 great TD catches.
