'11 FL LB Denzel Perryman (Miami Verbal)

Kelly will go after a recruit that doesn't fit his prototypical measurements if the recruit has what he calls "compelling reasons". Just looking at this kid's film, there are numerous compelling reasons per play.
He's explosive, looks like he's shot out of a cannon when the ball is snapped and he looks like a rhino in helmet and shoulder pads. It looks like he hits like one too.

We definitely need some bodies in the secondary -- but I'd always extend an offer to a special talent regardless of how much traffic is at his position.

Only thing is, is do we take French Perryman, and williams id be happy with two of them idk if we take 3 of them though

They wouldn't all be playing the same position. Perryman will likely play one of the MLB spots. His measurables don't project him as an OLB like French and Williams. I think a lot of it depends what other commits we get/if anybody else decommits as to whether we would take all 3.

i know but with Grace PErryman Williams French Councell Rabasa 6 Lb's idk if we would love one Grace seems to be all irish with Rabasa after his visit with coach kelly councell is at South CArolina this weekend he says hes all irish but i think French Williams and Perryman might be better prospects than Councell what u guys think

I just have a bad feeling that Perryman pulls Rabasa to Miami. He has expressed his concerns of distance. Perryman "seems" to be a hurricane. IMO I would love to have Rabasa and Counsell stay put in this class and maybe add Ishaq and French. Perryman woud be a nice add but we are pretty deep at MLB.

Do not underestimate Councell. He is a very good prospect for us. His height and athletic abilities are really good*. Is Denzel fast enough to perhaps get a look at safety? Hard to tell from the video, but he does tackle very hard.

no councell is a beast. 6'6" guys who run top-level forties and are also football *smart* do not grow on trees.

Its a toss up at this point. I would not trade Counsell for anyone left on the board. Ishaq and French my be overall better athletes but they are projected for dfferent positions than Counsell. I will take Counsell over Perryman everyday of the week. Ishaq and French would provide a great rotation with Rabasa on the outside.

Counsell is one of my favorites in this class....big, fast...and a good kid. He will be a star at ND.

I hope so. Good friends with Rabasa. He reminds of Ronnie Curran who played for UGA and now plays for the Titans.
FWIW a guy on DD is close to Rabasa and said he spoke to Perryman the other day. The two things stopping him from committing are they want his grades to improve and his mom wanting him at Miami. The guy has been spot on with everything about Anthony so I assume this as true as well.

His mom wants him at Miami, and the kid wants to be at Notre Dame. Odd. I think we have seen the inverse situation many times before, but I'm not so sure that this has occurred. That's awesome.

Was this an offer from Weis way back or did the Kelly staff offer him? My understanding was that he wasn't being recruited too heavily by the ND staff. I hope I'm wrong. Beast offer list

Is this a rumor or they offered him again this week-end? Regardless, the kid can play ball. Very good tackler, always seems to be around the ball carrier, and seems pretty fast. The only Problem they must have had is his height. I think Kelly prefers taller guys...

Kelly does like taller players especially at DE and LB but Perryman is very athletic. He is a few inches shorter than other BK LB recruits but the guy makes up for it with speed and agility
I believe distance away from home is an issue with his mother. Hence the reason in her son wanting to stay in Miami instead of traveling hours away from home to a college where he will recieve a great education. Selfish? If the kid wants to be in ND with his best friend and get a good education, should the mom not be proud she raised a child that looks beyond football?
