Decisions Decisions: Notre Dame/Navy

I work for the Navy so I can get real solid tickets to pretty much any Navy game because of all the Officers who work here. I sat front row on the 50 yardline for Army/Navy at Lincoln Financial last year. First time I ever attended an Army Navy game and it was an incredible atmosphere. Anyway..

Last night, I was told that one of the guys has 2 extra club box seats for this Saturday's game at the Meadowlands. For probably all of you this would be a clear-cut 'yes' answer. But I am having trouble deciding so hear me out...

I am a Phillies fan and Game 6 could be the NLCS series clinching game for the Phils. The game starts at 4 on Saturday. I could turn that day into an all day event by not going to the game--- Head down to the local bar watch ND/Navy at 12 and then I'd have a guaranteed seat for Phils/Giants at 4. The place will be jammed for that game. I am rolling the dice that the Phillies dont win or lose 3 straight. If Phillies sweep or get swept these next 3 games then there is no game Saturday and then i am kicking myself for not taking the tix.

I would like to see the new stadium at the Meadowlands. I will be in a club seat (not sure if that includes food and bevarage). I am a huge fan of tailgating so I wouldnt be going all gung ho as I would need to drive home. Train tickets were a bit a pricey and would take aabout 2.5 hours to get there so I would definitely be driving.

I have seen ND/Navy plenty of times at Neutral sites and the only time I ever saw ND play in South Bend was 3 years ago against Navy when they lost to the Midshippmen for the first time in like 48 games.

Tickets are $110 a piece which a little steep for me (been trying to save money) but considering the club seats and who I will be rubbing shoulders with it isnt too-too bad I guess.

Option A:
Get to the parking lot around 9 and drive home and hopefully catch end of Phillies (if Game 6 is even necessary). Probably wouldnt find a parking space in my neighborhood upon my return home.

Option B:
Watch Game at home or bar and then stick around for Phils at 4. Extreme Risk do to hypothetical situation.

Im honestly leaning toward Option B.

What would you do?

If I were you I would get the football tickets and send them to Irish Man3 and then stay home and watch the games on t.v. Just a thought.

What would you do?

take it for what its worth but i would go to the football game because i haven't seen nd play live in my life. had a chance but passed on it because the two tickets i could get were in opposite end zone and it would have been a mess trying to hook back up with anybody that went with me. I regret not going.

baseball is great and all and it doesnt get much better than october baseball, but, dude the phillies are going to the WS just catch the clinching game in that. it will be much more rewarding.

if i have the opportunity and the means to go to a ND game, everything else takes a back seat.

Yes - Playoffs + Tailgating + Bar for ND Game

(keep in mind, for me, Notre Dame trumps all sporting events)

It may not be USC and "only" Navy, but an ND game is an ND game is an ND game.

Trust the Phillies.

Maybe it's me but I would rather go to a live event over watching one on TV.

If it was between going live to the Phillies i would say go their since it is the playoffs, that's hard for me to say though because ND is number one over all for me

Live football in a beautiful new stadium with the sun out and 60 degrees (just checked weather.com) can't be beat. This is football weather! We are heading up from Philly and would offer a ride but we are going up early and aren't coming back until the next day - visiting with our ND grad daughter for the weekend.

The Phightin's will be fine and it will be much more satisfying when they are clincing the World Series.

Took the tickets. Asked my dad to go, he couldnt. Asked my brother, he said "yea, and since you owe me $110 you can just pay and we'll call it even" Sweet.

Want to thank the posters who convinced me to take the tix. Everything worked out- Phils didnt sweep or get swept. Game 6 back in Philly and its not a clinching game so i'm not missing out. And now the Yankees lost so the Phillies/Giants game is pushed back to 8PM. ill be home from nd/navy around 530. pumped.
