Saw Williams on Fox News this morning and he said Bama ND and Penn St. were the schools he was looking at.
They were doing a story on the Army All American Game.

The confusion is that he's not set a date for those 3 schools just that he know those are 3 schools that he will officially visit.

Good... Our chances of landing the young man have just increased greatly... Get them on campus and let moms and pops work on them. :)

This would be his second time coming to campus! Hopefully he will enjoy his stay again and the team will show improvement with a win. I would love to see a rotation of Rabasa, Ishaq, Burton & Councell!

He wants early playing time. Heck is when he lands his first step on campus early enough for playing time? He can play for us right now. With our 3rd down defense he would have zero problem playing for us right now. Can you imagine the change in speed and strength if we added him to go along with the twins, Tuitt, Lynch, and the crew? I also think Shembo isn't far away from being pretty dang good.

We need help! And this would be another huge step in the help category!

This would be a great pick up but its not do or die for us. We have Stephon Tuitt and Aaron Lynch as stud DE's. We have Anthony Rabasa and Clay Burton as legit OLB's. Ishaq would add depth and another element to our defense. I like the fact that his mother is coming with him on the visit. Pitt is a very winable game against a local opponent for Ishaq. I like our chances but I think he still ends up in Happy Valley.

Would love to get him. I've read that Tuitt has room to grow and could easily become a DT. Having him with Lynch and Williams on the sides could be dangerous.

Tuitt is the prototypical 3-4 DE. When they say he may grow into a DT, they're talking about a 4-3

I still would take French first. He has played his entire career off the line of scrimmage so it would not be as much of a change. Also, Christian French is a more versatile athlete. Just my opinion.

We have room for 3 guys and we need a Safety, WR and OLB. Even French's coach said he is a project, as much potential that he has, he will not be a major contibutor until years down the road. We need depth now and IShaq provides that. If their is room then take French, but if its down to 1 or the other i take IShaq

We have Rabasa and Clay Burton already. That provides depth to go along with the young LBs we already have. I agree that we need a safety and Christian French could play safety. He is very versatile on both sides of the ball. Very athletic to run a 4.4 as tall as he is. Either one would be a great addition.

Irish Man we all though we had depth at OLB this year in Flemming, Filer, Smith, and Neal. With as much as our D has been on the field this year I'd take Ishaq and French if they want on board. I have all the faith in the world in our recruiting staff, but sometimes these guys just don't pan out. I'm not suggesting that about any of our OLB recruits, but it does happen and it's best to be prepared. Just my opinion.

I still think it would be a huge coup if we pull him away from Joe Pa. But a good showing against Pitt could change his mind, especially if Prince Shembo gets to play and plays well. It'd be a good way to prove there is early playing time available.

Don't forget about Ben Councell who runs a 4.4 as well. Ishaq would be a great bonus, don't get me wrong. We have a heck of an OLB haul coming in next year if this class stays intact.

Yea thats what I was saying about our young OLB. We are pretty set as far as OLBs go for this cycle. Please dont misunderstand me, I would love the addition of Ishaq. But if it came down to one or the other, I would have to go with French. He can play offense and defense at multiple positions. We need team speed as much as we dont wanna hear that.

French is not playing offense. Also Rabasa, Buron, and Councell are all projects as well, IShaq can play right away. Thats why they are pressing so hard.

Same with Lyons, they are slow playing the other Safeties because they want Lyons

???? Have you guys ever seen any of these guys play? When you recruit at Texas, SC, or in the SEC, you go after EVERYONE. (Since we can’t keep thirty players in the farm system like SEC teams do.) Some players actually don’t make it. We have to go for all of them. Williams and French have freakish speed. Tell me you have watched them and they can’t cover receivers as well most db’s! And they can rush the passer and play the run. I am sorry these guys are elite prospects, not projects. French’s coach is trying to influence the position his player lands at in college. He can play almost anywhere.

Our defense is playing their asses off this year; can you imagine them with this kind of athleticism and speed across the board and two deep? Check our stats this year against the run, with the first seven versus the second seven against the run. Last post is a great one.

This is absolutely true SEC teams always take more than allowed but it always drops down after players transfer and quit we want a competitive atmosphere and having as many athletes as possible is necessary

Williams could be a major player in the next couple of years

How do you figure that Ishaq can play right away? Is moving from DE to OLB not qualify as a project? He plays DE in highschool and Notre Dame is recruiting him to play OLB. Most athletes coming out of highschool could be classified as projects. Christian already plays LB and safety so the transition would be smoother if anything.
Also, what source do you have that says Christian French is not going to play offense? Notre Dame has no publicly stated that he will not play offense. Obviously they're not closed off to it or we wouldn't be in his top 3. That's where he wants to play in college.

I am trying to find the article. I thought that Ishaq has played different positions on defense. I don't know that it was as sophisticated as college, but I thought he had some experience in a two point stance. I know French has played a number of positions, from safety up, but I thought Ishaq had some ranging experience too.

According to Rivals, he will not be visiting this weekend unfortunately. Couldn't find a flight. His dad seems to be very high on ND though. Will be going to the Army game. Will try to come to ND with his family at a later date.

Flights? Really, no NYC to Chicago flights.

The words the Rivals guy used were "no reasonable flights." Interpret that how you will.

Regardless, they seemed excited about the Yankee stadium game, and they said they were going to come out later in the season. I think we're sitting pretty well with Ishaq.
