DELAY OF GAME?

Lets say the delay of game was called...MSU lines up and runs the same play and still scores. Did you see how much space the receiver had to score that TD? Lets not hang our heads over something that wouldn't have made a difference anyway.

From that distance they may not have even lined up for the field goal, which certainly would change things.

Are you kidding me? It's very simple. If they blew the whistle like THEY SHOULD HAVE, MSU snaps the ball the but the play gets blown dead (not inconceivable to say that we see that they would have accidentally show their hand that it was a fake, but I digress.) Now it's a 51 yd field goal, and we're in massive fake prevention.

This is a legitimate complaint, not crying. It's B.S., plain and simple.

And as far as already jumping off BKs bandwagon, THE GUY YOU WANTED US TO HIRE BADLY, please jump off and never return. You saw the culture of losing he's trying to overcome...I can't believe how many fans are jumping off right now. Good riddance. Change is a process, not an instant. The loss sucks azz, but we'll be a better team by the end of the year, guaranteed, unlike past seasons. And we have a top 5 class coming in for a run next year.

After the game last night I felt partly as you did, that this waiting for next year effing sucks. But for me, much like Lou Holtz, this time the waiting will be worth it. I still FIRMLY believe in BK...the man is a winner, and I have zero doubts he'll get it done...

Thank you. Some people seriously have no perspective.

Thanks for the infraction for stating my opinion respectfully. Was it a blown call? Sure. And it was a lucky play. But if you look at the play, Kelly said that the guy he had covering fell. And the guy did fall...but he was BLITZING not covering! and tried to recover and got tangled up with the the receivers. There were two ND players in coverage but they were on the other side of the field. So based what I see, I have no doubt that ND would have gotten scored on anyway.

And yes Kelly will turn it all around..the guy is a proven winner.

So had we won that game NDOM, would we be a good team? You simply cannot refute the Delay of Game missed call. Kelly was prepared for the fake, as noted above. D'Antonio thinks he is all smart, but I think everyone and their brother knew this was coming. D'Antonio is hanging on for dear life because with him there MSU is just a middling Big10 school.

A couple plays go our way and we are 3-0. Patience grasshoppah.

Letter from Big East director of officiating

We have reviewed the play. ESPN computed the time between zero and snap to be no more than .133 seconds which would not be an extended period of time. We will be releasing a statement on this later today explaining the mechanics of this play. Thank you for you note.

There were two Delay of Game penalties called against ND that seemed to happen without any hesitation by the officials. I wonder what the difference was in those two?

yes... I didn't even want to bring it up... SNAKE BIT... I hate the thought of us getting screwed... we had chances to not be in this situation... we should have taken care of business before and this wouldn't have been an issue.

I just don't understand how it's making an excuse to say that the most pivotal play of the game shouldn't have been allowed to stand.

All I got to say is GO BLUE you bunch of cry baby's. We are 22-15-1 all time against you cry baby's. Two 38-0 wins since 2000 and three wins in the last four seasons. Ha Ha Ha So you suck again and will always suck like you have for the last 20 seasons. Waaaa Waaa cry cry cry.

That's actually "cry babies". Good try though.

Weak sauce. 13-13-1 since 1978. Going 8-0 on a school in the 1800s doesn't count.

Your a ND fan you only count what you want to. Look at the scores the last ten years.

"Your" implies ownership. e.g., Your coach has been reprimanded by the NCAA.

"You're" means "you are." e.g., You're a troll.

Does that make sense?

they were big east refs, send them the emails

I'm so confused...You are correct...I always have to look it up because I never remember who to bitch at...don't bitch out Big 10 guys...well go ahead, just not about this one...

Big East:

commissioner@bigeast.org (John M. Marinatto-commisioner)
tmcaulay@bigeast.org (Terry Mcaulay-coordinator of officials)

BTW...here is Mcaulay's explanation of the call:

Big East: OT no-call correct in Notre Dame-MSU - Chicago Breaking Sports

that rule sounds pretty crazy in the sense that, a ref can just stare at the clock for longer if he wants which would then allow the team to go beyond :00 if that occurs.

i'm by no means saying that is what happened in this instance, just that maybe the rule needs to be tweaked alittle bit.

looks like they watched it, and knew it was an issue, and chose to make a no call...of course what would you say if you were the Big East Coordinator of officiating?

Yea the rule itself...it sounds a little hokey to me too. you figure a guy can see the clock strike 0, and look at the snapper...no snappy...no play...throw flag.

AND with the advent of cool devices you could have the guy stare at the snapper, and have a vibrating device go off in his pocket (I know the refs would liket that)...I would even volunteer to send the signal...like a dog shock collar..."back judge is convulsing...delay of game".

Anyway, in all seriousness, with the technology they've implemented to date, it seems odd to have this part still a human point of failure...
