That's why you don't make your screen name about an incoming freshman being a deity. Or why you don't make a college football message board screen name about a player in general.

Terry Tate disagrees...

Per ESPN:

Former Notre Dame wide receiver Shaq Evans enrolled in classes Monday at UCLA, according to a source.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound sophomore from Inglewood, Calif., will have three seasons of eligibility beginning in 2011. He caught seven passes for 61 yards in 2009 for the Fighting Irish, playing in six games.

Evans was an ESPNU 150 recruit and the No. 4 wideout nationally in the Class of 2009, according to ESPN's recruiting rankings. He chose the Irish over USC.

Too bad UCLA sucks

I will probably end up going to a game this year so i'll be rooting for Shaq, Fauria, and Barr

I told a UCLA friend of mine that Shaq transferred and he had no idea, he remembered him from Inglewood and is really excited

I hope UCLA finds someone to throw him the ball. Their QB situation is beyond pathetic.

hahahaha

the whole time this was going on, i was reading Oregon-USC back in forth, he might go too. i was thinking he would transfer to Stanford to play with Luck, IMO that would have been better for him, because the whole Prince, Brehaut, Crissman QB situation hasn't been going good.

oh well, hope you know what your doing Evans......

i guess you can't fault a kid for wanting to be closer to home, but i feel like the easy way out was chosen in this situation.

I know this thread should fall into history, but

for what it's worth on his facebook he says he misses his "boys" at Notre Dame.

I know I need to let this go...however it still stings.

I guess the saying "absence makes the heart grow found..." is applicable?!

We really need to let this one go for sure..., he is gone and he isn't coming back. Had he worked a little harder he might have gotten some PT this year, but he left and now he is at UCLA. Wish him the best of luck. He will have to live with his decision for the rest of his life. Hope it works out for him.

Why so much disdain for the guy?

I don't hate the guy, but I can understand why other people might: he quit on the team. He didn't get the PT he wanted, when his play on the field didn't warrant more PT, so he took his ball and went home.

Bless you, young Mr. Evans, you'll make new friends, but your ND buddies will always be part of your family. My football-playing brothers keep up with many of their old teammates whether the guy continued on or not---the bond of being in the trenches together.
