Per ISD he picked up a Notre Dame offer. Saw it on the front page, not a member. I would assume he is a good student if he has received offers from Stanford, Duke, and Northwestern.

He told Steve Wiltfong that he was excited by the offer, and that this one feels 'different', because everyone talks about ND. He's going to take his time making a decision because he wants to visit all the schools and get to get a feel of all the campuses.

He's got a 3.8 GPA.

Didn't we think that Justin Trattou was a good guy too??

Great vision, good hand, and isn't easily tackled....not to mention the bad porn music in his highlight video!

A QB that runs that much might do better playing for NAVY. Love the fact that he takes tackles head and and wants to go through people if he has to.

Are we looking at him as a QB? I'd guess not. Fun to watch run though.

Per Steve Wiltfong, he is trying to set up a visit in June with his parents and fellow NJ standout RB Huggins and his parents.

ND needs speed desperately, and this kid can fly...

55 meters equals about 60 yards. If you just do the math 6.35/60 * 40 it works out to 4.23 but the longer the sprint the more time you have at your top end speed. I would say he is probably legit 4.4 maybe even in the 4.3 range.

I don't think you even need all that stop watch stuff to see that Shuler is fast. His film is all you need.

That's not necessarily true. (Don't mean to get over technical on this thread, but...) A sprinter reaches max velocity during the "stride phase" at about 30 to 60 meters. After that the sprinter actually starts slowing down during the "lift phase." So during a 100 meter dash race, if two guys are tied at about the 60 mark, the winner will be the one who actually "slows down less."

Here's a random page I picked that says the same thing (in case anyone is overwhelmingly interested ) :) Sprinting

Here's a breakdown of 100 meter sprinters at 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 meter marks. I hope this works:

Name/Country Reaction 20m 40m 60m 80m 100m
Christie (UK) 0.139 2.93 4.74 6.48 8.22 9.96
Fredericks (NAM) 0.138 2.91 4.74 6.50 8.26 10.02

Thanks mbechka!! Haha, just kidding Neutered :) The difference is you had useful knowledge to the board and backed it up with excellent data - just trying to make sure everyone on the board remembers him!

lol. I had mbechka on the back of my mind when I was posting. I am aware of a thing or two regarding biomechanics, physics, cross country, and track and field, which is why mbechka caught me off guard with his attitude and seemingly off center info. No coach that ever competed then studied biomechanics that I met at any clinic or university ever had anything close to mbechka's "attitude."

6/17 Shuler up to 26 offers By Roger Brown
School may be out, but Miles Shuler (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) still has plenty of homework to do. He said his list of scholarship offers grew to 26 when UF and PSU offered last week. Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford, Rutgers, Pittsburgh and Boston College are among the other schools that have offered. "I've narrowed it down some, but I'm interested in a lot of schools," said Shuler. "I know for a fact that I'll hit Pittsburgh, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Stanford with a mix of official and unofficial [visits]."

Stanford and Harbaugh were very smart to pick up Polian... they have picked up recruiting the past few years, and i wouldnt be surprised if by the end of this recruiting cycle they are tops in the pac ten for recruiting with USC getting sanctioned.

That being said, dont think this kid is heading there... I got good vibes from him towards ND. Heres to hoping it pans out well for us.

Per Scout, he plans to visit ND this summer, along with many other schools. He's interested in ND, even though they haven't kept in touch the past couple of weeks. Teammate (and future ND WR) Bennett Jackson told him not to worry about it, that ND is still interested (needless to say, I didn't like hearing that we haven't kept in touch with this speedster).

He wants to cut his list to 15 schools with his dad this week, then plan OVs before the school year begins. He has 2 teams that he will definitely take official visits with in the fall: Stanford and Florida.

according to isd he hoping to visit this summer but now plans to take an offical visit to nd. his father said that he was definitely going to take an offical to nd. pitt and rutgers and if northwestern didn't get a trip this summer they would get an offical visit. said nd is recruiting him as receiver and gators are as a d-back. he will take all his visit before deciding.
