Irish offer dual-sport star Jacoby Brissett High 3-star QB Jacoby Brissett (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Dwyer) has received an offer from ND, ESPN affiliate Web site ISD reports. BC CL FSU ILL LSU MIA UNC SCA USF UTN WVU and FIU among others have also offered. The 6-4, 220 Brissett also hopes to play basketball in college and has hopes offers from SCA, MIA GWU and ODU. "When I go to a program, I want to go to a program that's going to help me grow. I want to go where a QB coach can help me progress to get to the next level. Someone I can trust on and off the field, and someone I can trust when football is done and it's just me and that person. I want to go somewhere I can get a nice education just in case football doesn't work out, where I can get a great job and be well paid, and just a place that feels like home." He completed 116 of 195 attempts (59.5 %) for 2,212 yards, 26 TD/7 ints fall for the loaded Dwyer squad.

imagine what he could do after a summer with longo and a pre season with Kelly, if you havent seen much Zack Colaros footage, i would urge you to see what ND's future could be with this kid..

This kid is on ESPN right now playing in a Ohio vs Florida rival game.
So far the kid looks pretty impressive.

Im still liking Bennie Coney, i know this guys a year older, but wow, if we had BOTH of these guys waiting in the wings after dayne and (reese? montana, hendrix?) we would be a VERY dangerous double threat team.

I don't like Bennie Coney, Jacoby Brissett, or Gray Crow as qb's for BK's spread. I realize BK is great at adjusting his spread to his personnel, but I'd prefer Kiel, Mauk, or Pike. Just my two cents.

Brisset and Golson showing interest is a great sign!

However, out of the two I'd rather have Golson. He seems to have nice fundamentals already. Brisset would be more of a project, but he does have awesome speed.

Guys, I need some of your wisdom here. We have Crist still on the roster. We have a young kid [Rees] who has looked pretty good for a raw rookie, and who is apparently one of those types of coach's son/ gym rats that just knows how to do things. We have two more fairly highly regarded scout team freshmen, one of whom has been roundly praised by Kelly. And Montana is still on scholarship. I can see why we're chasing 2012s, but why are we chasing 2011s?? Believe me, I know that I'm an ignoramus on this area, but my long-winded question is an attempt to get help understanding this.

If you can find a kid that can be a dual threat QB, and he can enroll early to learn the offense - it would be prudent to stock the stable. We will probably have a transfer or 2 regardless of what happens. Maybe they know about some potential rumblings. Montana I don't see being given another year for scholarship. Rees, Hendrix, and Massa - I see 1 or two transfers unfortunately. So much is up in the air right now. I'm speaking purely on speculation.

This is just my opinion but i think dayne is such a question mark because he may not be back until the summer and he has shown how injury prone he is and now with the rumors he might trasnfer to a d2 school (a la joe flacco) you just can't assume that he is fine for next year no questions asked. As for reese while i think he did well aginst tulsa and is a nice player, to me he spells out career back up, I personally don't think massa is super talented, that may be because he is really raw, that leaves Hendrix who i think has the greatest potential and is really smart. With that said i think if you can get a guy like Golson or Brissett would EE, then you got hendrix, rees, golson battle to me but mainly golson and hendrix have the talent, assuming dayne is no longer able.
