As we wrote May 25, top quarterback prospect Bubba Starling is planning to visit the Notre Dame campus June 4-5, his third trip there in as many months. The Fighting Irish are hoping that this last visit will be enough to get Starling to commit (Starling is expected to announce his decision in the next few weeks).

One factor in Notre Dame's favor is that another ESPNU 150 Watch List QB that was being targeted by Notre Dame, Kiehl Frazier, committed to Auburn over the weekend, clearing the path for Starling to join Notre Dame. The Irish are also after three other Watch Listers, including Christian LeMay (who has given a soft verbal to Georgia), Marquise Williams and Braxton Miller (who might be committing to Ohio State soon), but Starling might end up being the best fit. He is also considering Nebraska, the team rumored to be Notre Dame's toughest challenger, as well as Alabama, Oklahoma and Kansas. If Brian Kelly and his staff were to whiff on Starling, expect them to put on a full-court press to land any of their other three targets.

P.S.: ESPN and recruiting breaking news should never be thought of together.

Hopefully he does commit on or near the visit, though!!

After visiting ND, he's going to visit Nebraska a couple of weeks afterwards before making his decision. Hopefully he won't have to make that last visit to Nebraska, but either way he's not ND's yet...

I like our depth at qb, the talent at the position has yet to be decided though. Kelly loves alot of qbs though and we need to get at least one a year with the offense he runs and as much as the qbs run we have to be prepared for injuries. I like what Kelly is doing

I think at of all our prospects I like Bubba the most..

I know QBs aren't the biggest need right now, but this guy is just an overall freak athlete. He seems to love the school, and mother's can't turn down ND...

I believe he doesn't get in till late tonight. Most of his visit will be tomorrow.
