Let me just state that these jerseys were being sold with signatures on them from Kelly, and that they may or may not be Notre Dame's gameday jersey. Look at it as a novelty verses game-worn. Only BK knows for sure.

donjuan, I share your skepticism. The bookstore has been selling modified novelty jerseys with the ND on the sleeves for a while (blue or pink ones for ladies, as i recall).
Though a jersey change can't be totally and absolutely ruled out, I wouldn't bet on these ones being the new ones - we just don't know yet.

I like the throwback from the early 90's. I likenthe nd on the sleeves but I also like the classic simplicity of our jerseys from thevrecent times.

Hey guys,
As far as I know, the jersey from the "Shirt" unveiling will be the new uniform in the fall.
I will be doing a critique of this jersey in an article on Bleacher Report in the next few days.
One thing that you don't see though, on the back there is a fairly large interlocking ND logo on the upper back near the collar.
Also, I've heard that because of the weird shape of the collar, they might be wearing matching undershirts that will have a shamrock on them which would be visible.
I've also heard they could unveil something at the end of this month too.

I hate where the adidas logo is placed.. Rather them concept them off the old champion jerseys.

Instead of the interlocking ND logo on the back, I would like to see a golden dome, or the Fighting Irish icon. Where the adidas logo's located on the front I would like to see a shamrock with the interlocking ND in the middle, but that is my wishful thinking.

I like the jersey pick with the ND's on the sleeve and the back top portion. That's pretty cool, and classy in a modern way (not Oregon's happy horse ***). However, not sure what the hell is going on with the pants. Let's hope those aren't real or someone's Photoshop'd amusement. The classic look with the numbers like we had under Weis was nice, but I have always preferred the ND on the sleeves.

What happens when they put the names on the back of the jersey for the bowl game? The ND looks like it would pretty much put it at an awkward placement.

I think we all agree on that, but since this is a thing of substance, then I'll discuss
Hopefully that jersey shown in the pics above is just a quick model. I like that it is Navy Blue, but the ND all over the place is overkill. We know who ND is and so does the opposition. We don't need to see it plastered all over the place. I prefer the most simple of all - number in front, number in back. Nothing on sleeves. The subtle Adidas logo should be even more unnoticeable. It is almost an insult to have the adidas logo in front and the ND on back. The number on back is too low and the ND on the sleeve is too far back, almost on back of the upper arm. I wouldn't mind a small shamrock or lep maybe an inch tall somewhere on the uniform.
This message is important and will self destruct.

I don't mind the pants, I could get used to them. Kelly did coach the Bearcats last year, and some of their uniform might have carried over into ours.
I don't like the jersey though. I like the numbers instead of the ND, and I'm not a big fan of the ND on the back of the jersey. That adidas logo is too big, and in the wrong place. Hopefully that isn't the jersey they wear on gameday.
In the end, all I really care about is winning football games. Go Irish!

I looked, and I can't say I liked them, they do look very plain. I hope they look better on the actual players.

The gold has always been around the numbers.

So I'm looking through my new catalog from the Hammes Bookstore and the ultra expensive, authentic replica jersey with the stitched patches has the interlocking "ND" on the sleeve once again. The description is "designed to match the on-field team jersey". That got me thinking that perhaps we're going back to the ND on the sleeve (which would kick ass) under Kelly. I know each coach has some leeway to make uniform changes so perhaps that is his.
