On the day of his announcement when so many recruits are focused internally, on "me", Prestwood made it about Family.

That really impressed me as well. Don't know much about the kid but he seems like a good one.
Also said he committed on his visit but was aked to keep it quiet.

He really does SOUND the part, he's dotting his I's and crossing all the T's with what he's said thus far. He also said that he's not going to be recruited any further and that it is all said and done but NSD is a long ways away. We'll have lots of time to find out his true character which I don't doubt at this time but the vultures are everywhere and we've don't have anything in the win column yet to disprove any doubt. Go Irish!

This kids mean streak is a mile wide. I loveit. To reference Seinfeld, he goes after the defenders with "unbridled enthusiasm". I'm glad to have him in the fold.

Update

RANKING
Rivals: :s::s::s:, #27 OT, Rating 5.7
Scout: :s::s::s::s:, #11 OT
ESPN: :s::s::s::s:, #10 OT, Grade 80, National #129, ESPN 150

Rivals seems to outside the norm but considering that Prestwood was a highly ranked TE, 3 Stars as the 27th OT isn't bad. The other guys appear to be ranking on potential.

ESPN has an article up on Top OTs

OTs Christian Westerman, Cyrus Kouandjio and La'El Collins are all top 10 in the ESPNU 150 - ESPN

Under OTs To Watch:

Jordan Prestwood (Plant City, Fla./Plant City) has experience on the offensive line, but he spent his junior year as a jumbo tight end. He flashed some good athleticism there, but his home is on the offensive line. Prestwood is the most raw of the tackle prospects in the ESPNU 150. He will need to work on his technique, but he shows a high ceiling at the position.

With him being so raw at the position a year on the bench an in the weight room may do wonders for this kid and elevate him to possibly our best ot prospect

Could be, we'll see where his senior season takes him.

New article on him from Scout. Talked about him transitioning to OT, and he said he did very well at a USF big man camp...that he didn't lose a single one-on-one. Look for him to jump up the ratings when more people see him as an offensive tackle.

But the best part of the article was that he is still getting recruited VERY hard from some of the top schools in the country, most notably USC, Florida, and Alabama. His response to them? "‘thanks, no thanks.’ I’m definitely solid, 100 percent Notre Dame."

Love it! Unlike Chris Martin, who said he would say that and then took each and every call from recruiters, Prestwood is walking the walk. And with SC so hard up for O-linemen, even better that he's telling them basically to eff off.

Good on ya Jordan! Go Irish!

Lynch, his mother and the coaches are in ND stadium. All of a sudden, ACDC's "Hell's Bells" is played throughout the stadium. They look to the tunnel and see Jordan Prestwood coming out ready to close the game. Jordan closes the game and Aaron Lynch commits to the Irish.

I read somewhere that he is going to be in South Bend this weekend with another highly touted Florida recruit (Aaron Lynch!)...They are not purposefully visiting together but what perfect timing!!

I was hearing the same reading through the Rivals updates

I'm getting pretty excited with all this hype. If Prestwood really does materialize into the can't miss prospect it is sounding like, him and Hegarty as our bookend tackles would be insane!

I expect Prestwood to jump up a considerable amount in the rankings. Another commit I would look to make a strong charge up the rankings is Hardy. Heard he has been making some serious noise in camps around the country. Even saw a Zbikowski comparison in reference to his desire to make plays up around the line of scrimmage.

Here is a highlight of Jordan Prestwood. He played TE all year, so no clips of him at tackle. He will be playing LT this year.

Thanks for the video. We look forward to seeing his senior season at LT.

Between Prestwood and Tate I really hope Kelly has a tackle eligible play (or 6).
