Completely agree. Nobody outside a guy who had very limited options would commit to a D1 school without knowing who the coach was going to be. We'll all have that information very soon IMHO.

I certainly hope so. We don't want to be reading mindless rumors for the next few weeks, only to be disappointed.....again.

Great interview, just said he's 100% committed, no more visits. He called the coaches from LSU and FL and told them the news today (props to him for manning up); nice to pick up a kid from the south over Liar and Miles. Said he wanted to commit for weeks, even months, but finally pulled the trigger after talking with coach Alford today.

This is refreshing news in a tough time for Irish fans!

(And props, once again, to CW and the staff for selling the school, not the staff)...

Wow. It's probably been said, but the fact that he committed now makes me pretty certain that he was told who the next coach will be. That is even more amazing than Floyd committing right after we got destroyed by U$C.

One reason I would like to see Tony Alford stay. He can recruit!!

Wow this is great news during a tough week. thanks to charlie and staff for selling the school. The timing of this is weird though. Do you think he knows something, or am i looking to much into this and maybe he just wanted to go to nd really badly?

Saw it at Rivals and couldnt believe it. Its amazing NDcan get a commit without a coach.

I may be way off, but it's just something for everyone to think about.

Nix may be coming to ND because he knows Urban Meyer will be our next coach. UF was recruiting Nix and he was there for the game last weekend. Why does this matter you may ask? There is always the possibility Urban talked to him and told him he will become the next coach at Notre Dame. This would explain the timing of the commitment, right after his visit to UF. Any thoughts?

Great Pickup..could get reps next year and that is why he is coming to ND. Oh..and that whole ND degree thing

Maybe he has been waiting on admissions to clear him?

Maybe the coach to be would only come to ND if we would give him 3 or so players that wouldn't qualify otherwise. So to prove we are serious admissions go through.

In the next couple of days the new coach will be announced.

(just a theory, no inside info)

Under Armour A DTLouis Nix decommitted from Miami-FL Tuesday and switched to ND after Nix received a visit from Irish assistant coach Tony Alford.

"He told me about the situation with the coaches, and he said if he wasn't going to be there, he thought I should still go there, and that Notre Dame was the best school for me. For someone to tell me that, who possibly wouldn't be coaching me, that's something worth listening to. No more visits, no more nothing. I'm 100-percent."
