...The ambiguity about Weis.....
Headed to Biloxi MS for my brother's 40th birthday. Anyone know of any Irish -establishments- to watch the shit kicking of Sparty?????![]()
Pretty much any place that gets NBC..... will there be actual bars with the game on in mississippi? hmmmmm.... i would just stay in the hotel room to be sure.
We are staying at the Treasure Bay Casino. Just got off the phone with them and they said they will have every game on in the Pirate's Bay Bar. I almost thought what you said about staying in the room and having to watch it was going to be a reality.
It's time we beat these guys at home!!!!!
You can sit in the bar and wear an eye patch while talking about the awesome play of "ARRRRR-mando Allen".
In Mississippi, there's a good chance of catching this "Big" game on tv. What might surprise you, however, if you're watching in a public venue, how few others will be paying any attention. Down in that part of the country, where the boys play real football, there's about as much interest in the likes of teams like ours, or MSU, as, say, a pretty good high school game. We're just not on their radar because, compared to teams like Ole Miss, LSU, Florida, or Alabama, we are meaningless....just don't fit on the national stage, except in the minds of sportswriters, who still are romantically involved with our "legend" from the distant past. We'll probably squeak by MSU, who suck worse than we do, and then pat ourselves mightily on the back and resume our pretensions with respect to spurious national rankings, but, down there, they won't be impressed.....they know where real bruising football is played, and laugh when they see our fluffy schedule. Stanford? UConn? BC? Navy? They just roll their collective eyes.
We ought to be embarrased about having accepted any bowl bid. This decision was only about one thing: money. I never root against us, but I hope we lose this one....just too humiliating to be playing at all.
Tell us how you really feel NDinL.A.!!!!

Absolutely true that this season is NOT lost....just look at our fluffy schedule - while we play teams like BC, UCONN, Wash State, etc., (real powerhouses), and teams like, say LSU are playing the likes of Florida, Alabama and Mississippi, how can we even think our season might be lost? We've got a good chance to come out of the season with only maybe four losses against the titans we're playing, which will probably earn us a bowl bid!
Yes, LSU has decent schedule, Phil Steele ranks it the 21st toughest for '09 while Steele ranks ND way, way down at #36th toughest (3 spots ahead of OSU and 4 spots ahead of Texas).
As for those SEC powerhouses:
UF #34 (that's 2 spots ahead of our "fluffy schedule"!)
Bama #68 (that's 32 spots fluffier then ND!)
Mississippi #77 (is that a fluffernutter schedule?)
Oh, and Kentucky who's getting poll votes have the #52 schedule.

Notre Dame - The Cushwa-Leighton Library at Saint Mary's College held Treasure Island mystery events and made READ posters featuring the likes of Mad Constance, Cap'n Esmeraelda, Keelhaul Rose, and Captain Deadeye Robert Twee.
IMO, this is a huge game for the future of CW and more importantly ND football as a whole.
CW has a lousy record against MS, and if the Spartans win this one, you can expect a Spartan Flag centre field!
That won't and can't be tolerated, I'm not suggesting a bench clearence or anything of the sort, I'm wanting to see us do our talking between the whistles etc.
Goodluck Charlie, and Go Irish!
... hopefully Notre Dame will be able to get their first win of the season!
Today is going to be a great day.
We will win today 38 - 17. The after the game my wife will go into labor and our second son will be born or that's at least how I want it to happen. She's due next week and I have been telling her for the past two Saturdays that she has to wait until after the game.
GO IRISH!!!!
