Excellent news GG. Thanks for the info. I think GR is going to be a stud receiver. Hope ND atmosphere wows him.

He should see glimpses of how the offense is going to be in a couple of years. I think ND have to be the favorites in that game. I love being ia member of the Air Force, but the football team is bad.

The good news is he caught a 5 yard touchdown pass Friday night before the backups took the field in a 46-0 win. The bad news is he was in Eugene Oregon to watch the Ducks beat ASU. He'll be in South Bend next week. Tough game to follow.

This past weekend Gerell took a visit to Eugene to watch Oregon take on Arizona State. He said he had a lot of fun and that it was a good trip. He will be comming to ND for the Duke game, not the Air Force game as it wsa originally reported, and he also has an official visit set up to Georgia Tech for Thanksgiving weekend. He's not sure if he'll take his other two visits or not. He'd like to take these visits and then decide weather or not he feels he needs to take the last two. If he doesn't take them then he mentioned that he would like to decide his school of choice earlier than he originally planed which would have probably been at the AAA Bowl.

Additionally there was a guy that called into Power Hour last night that said he had a mutual friend that was friends with one of the assitant coaches at Gerrell's high school. Anway, according to this assitant coach Gerrell wasn't blown away by he visit to Oregon and he is still stongly considering ND.

I want this kid bad, he is versatile and gives us speed and explosivness at the WR position...Anyone see Gerell getting the pitch from JC and throwing deep to Michael Floyd or Kamara? That would be sweet..

I actually think Walker is the most explosive of the three, but Gerell does seem to be an excellent and versatile athlete. So much so that I hope they would take him too even if they were to land Walker or Baldwin.

Gip, I'm not confident we get both in the end. I want TR, I'm not sure Page will leave the south, especially after the article that came out today.

Remember the source of the article. It was from the S.Carolina Rivals site so you know they're going to do anything possible to avoid saying that ND has a very good chance with one of the state's top prospects. My only real concern here is that ND was one of his first official visits. People tend to remember the stuff they did last the best. Other than that I think ND's in great shame for him.

I also like Robinson alot. I think he reminds me most of Carlyle Holiday (big and athletic, but explosive when he needs to be).

Yea me too, but Gerell will have the advantage of play WR all 4 years and not throwing 2 feet over our WR's heads...

From everything I'm hearing ND has a very good chance of getting a verbal commitment from Gerell Robinson, mabe as early as this weekend if the visit goes well but more than likely he'll go home and at least think it over for a few days before he makes a descion.

Plus it was also mentioned on this week's Power Hour that they believe ND would take 2 of the remaining WRs if Robinson was one of them because they are looking at him as a WR/ATH combo. If that turned out to be the case then it could likely be a Golden Tate situation where the player would start out at the position they would like to play, which once again would be WR, then if that didn't work out they'd find another position that best fit the palyers skill set.

I personally think that would be a very smart thing to do given the trouble ND had with landing elite WRs. If you have several that want to come I think they should take them and then work out any numbers problems later.

Reports are already surfacing that Gerell's visit went very well and a commitment could possibly be comming very soon.

That's great. I am curious as we get near the end of the available spots, whether an announcement will trigger others who want to make sure they can get one of the last few spots.

Especially since the remaining interested recruits are essentially at the same positions: RB, WR, and OL

According to Gallup21 on DD, who interviewed Dayne Crist following the Duke game, Dayne is pretty confident in ND's chances with G.Rob and D.Walk.

Walker and Robinson...along with Kamara and Tate can you say WOW!!!! Those 4 could make me into a first roung draft pick at QB! Add the best RB stable I have seen at one college in a long time and the future is brite!!!! Wait Latina is still here never mind!!! The QB will not have time to get it to those WR and the RB's will have no holes!!!

I think Latina will be gone after this season. He hasnt shown any improvement. Hell the line had a hard time against DUKE.

so that means we might take two more receivers?

It was recently mentioned on Power Hour that they believe ND would take 2 of the remaining WRs if Robinson was one of them because then they would look at him as a WR/ATH combo.

It seems all is quiet with Gerell Robinson. I wonder if we had lost to Duke, would he had already committed. That seems to be a constant trend. :)

He is home talking it over with his family. He stayed through part of yesterday, so it's not like he's been home for very long. He also may be rescheduling his visit to Georgia Tech, and he also said he may want to take another trip to to both ND and Oregon since those are the main two schools he's looking at.

Gip if he did schedule another visit to ND, would you assume that it would most likely be Banquet weekend. If so that's fantastic news being that most of our commits will be there. B&G supposedly has an interview with him today, so I'm sure that will give us a better feel for where he stands. I do have a feeling this may be a dragged out process.

Alright, the next person who posts in here (after me :eek:grin: ) and moves this thread to the top of new posts list, and is NOT reporting that Gerrell is now a commitment is gonna get a negative rep.

My heart just can't take the suspense and everytime you move it up to the top, you're just toying with me.
