Gerrell was honored at the halftime of yesterday's Arizona Cardinals/Cleveland Browns game as being one of two Arizona players to be selected to the Army All-American Bowl.

As he was walking by our seats (I scored some from work on a trial I'm doing out here in Phoenix and wanted to see the new stadium) I yelled "Go to Notre Dame!" He smiled and flashed the peace sign.

I feel like I've done my part to contribute to Charlie's recruiting efforts.

LOL, good job!

That gave me a little more confidence that he might come to south bend......reps

Great job. Maybe you can make the trial last awhile and just keep bumping into Gerrell with all your N.D. gear on.

Gerell lists his top four as ND, Oregon, Tennessee and Arizona State. He also picked up a visit today from Coach Haywood and Coach Oliver.

Gerell seemed to be really impressed with Coach Haywood.

I don't know GG, you keep laughing me off, but ASU keeps creeping up.

Hes going to be Irish, he is just making sure he is making the best decision (which he is) before he pulls the trigger.

I know now with the Deion possibility closing, I just need some reassurance not just assuming he will commit.

If Haywood is a big factor in Gerrell committing to Notre Dame, then it Notre Dame might be SOL when it comes to getting Robinson. I believe Haywood will become the head coach of Houston in the coming days. I can't imagine them going with Jack Pardee, even if he is a legend and wants to coach there so bad he already has a staff picked out.

We don't know if it will affect any of the commits or recruits that N.D. is still after. Like somebody said earlier,we have almost 2 months befor signing day. Between now nd then we are going to here rumors, reports, eye witness acounts of numerous comings and goings. Just relax and trust the Irish staff to do their best to bring in the players they want.

I'm glad Haywood is staying. He's a pretty good recruiter even tho Corwin Brown has been awesome for us this year.

While at ASU to watch one of their basketball games, stop me when this sounds familiar, Gerell spoke to a Notre Dame reporter. He mention that he will definately commit at the AAA Bowl and that he is now down to ASU, Florida, Tennessee and Notre Dame.

Oregon is out and Florida joined the list. If ND has any competion here at all I guess I'd have to say it's ASU, but at this point I just can't see him ending up anywhere besides ND. Sorry KP.

I've been feeling good about this kid for a month...From all indications, he should be all Irish. Wow, if we end with Gerrell and Deion, this will be the most talented class I've seen since I started following recruiting 6 years ago.

I'm not sure one way or the other, but I don't think he has. I don't think he has visited Tenn. either, but I know their coaches have come out to see him.

Gerell recently told Irish reporters that he plans on making a visit to Tennessee in the near future, but he will be announcing for sure on Jan. 5th at the AAA Bowl.
