Sorry So Cal no comitt that I am aware of.

Goshen... To your point, everyone must remember we can take two more because Robinson is a project and will most likely "redshirt" or "not play" next year. I believe Walker and or Baldwin would get a good amt of time. Walker is a well groomed WR and Baldwin is a specimen. Goodman also will need some work too because he hasn't played that much WR. I really think we need another WR.

I just don't think Grimes, West, and Parris are championship caliber. Not sure about Tate, I will hold out on my opinion of him until I see some basic route passes thrown his way.

Gip if he did schedule another visit to ND, would you assume that it would most likely be Banquet weekend.

I don't have any idea. They would probably like him to come that weekend if he wants to come back, but his basketball season will be starting soon, so he'll have to work his visits around his basketball schedule.

Goodman also will need some work too because he hasn't played that much WR.

Goodman has played quite a bit of WR. He just didn't play there full time this year. Similar to Cyrus Gray's situation.

If I were you I wouldn't expect a commitment for a couple of days at least and then just be happily suprised if one comes before that.

Here's the latest news on Gerell. He said that he had a blast on his visit and he was really impressed by all of the fans. He also mentioned that it was amazing to watch the interaction between the students and the players after the game.

He also metioned that he wants to take some time to talk about his trip with his parents and he might announce my decision in the next week or so, but if not, then he may wait untill the AAA Bowl.

Walker is waiting for the AAA Bowl right?
It would make all the sense in the world for Gerell to wait as well.
I'd love an announcement earlier, but I'll fully expect for it to happen at the AAA.

I dont know the odds of this happening... but what if, a big WHAT IF... since they all are announcing the same day, that we land Robinson, Walker, and Baldwin. Do we keep them all and get crazy good at WR or what?

No, Walker is not playing in the AAA Bowl. He's playing in ESPN/ABC's Under Armor AA Classic which takes place on the same day, and while he thinks he'll probably announce there he intends to make up his mind before that so he can let all the coaches know what he's doing because he doesn't think it would be right to make them find out on TV like everyone else.

They're not all announcing on the same day. Baldwin's orginal intention was to wait untill NSD, Deion plans to announce then, and Gerell might. But they all will have made up their minds and will tell the coaches before they publically announce. As much as I like all three guys I just don't see ND having the numbers to be able to take 5 WRs.

Gerell Robinson said he is waiting till late december or early January in an interview on irish tuesdays. So that ends the hope of an earlyier sommitment. Or does it?

Then if all 3 want to be irish, which one(s) do we take? Or would you take?

Well while all three seem like they have great potential I would take Gerell for sure since he could play multiple positions, and then the first out of the other two to commit. They wouldn't have to publically commit. I'd allow them to wait and do it on TV if they wished but I would need to be garunteed that they were in fact comming. If there is room and they all want to come then I would probably take all of them and then let things sort themselves out. I'd try to save a year of eligibility on a couple of them and then just not take hardly any WRs next year. We all know how much trouble ND has had with landing elite talent at WR and all five of these guys could wind up being very special, plus you never know if someone will change positions or transfer. Unless they can get another EE or miss out on one of the OL I don't think they'll have room for more than two.

Coach Weis and Coach Oliver will be visiting Gerell this Thursday, and Coach Ianello will be visiting the following Tuesday. Gerell also said he keeps in regular contact with Jimmy Clausen, Dayne Crist, Jonas Gray and Kyle Rudolph.

lol. my gut told me elway was a sundevil BEFORE the "experts" even had any idea. I go with my gut every time.

Erickson pays his players, remember? Who can turn down a college degree from a top-notch institution AND a pay check?

Is this the same gut that tells you who to gamble on? If so, I like ND's chances.

Anyone know what position Robinson plays on defense? I looked on page 1 but it's not listed there.

Curious if he might be recruited to play defense. He is listed as WR/Ath. Seems like he could play CB or S.

I know we already have Blanton, Slaughter and McCarthy slotted for those def positions. But we also have Goodman, Floyd and possibly one additional WR not including Gerell.

I'm not saying he shouldn't play WR, or should play safety, just wondering if that's a possibility.

He's being recruited as a WR, but he's played QB, WR, and S in high school.

Coach Weis and Coach Oliver were able to make the visit to Gerell's yesterday. They visited yesterday morning and were there for several hours before they went and stopped by Gerell's high school to meet with his coach.

According to Gerell the visit went well. He mentioned that his dad had a few questions for CW, and that he came away pleased. Gerell also said that he has a visit with a Tennessee coach on Monday, and that he has a visit scheduled with Rob Ianello. Since there hasn't been a commitment yet I wouldn't be suprised if he waited untill the Army AA Game in early Jan.

Hamilton's Gerell Robinson continues to be one of the state's more versatile players. He usually starts the game at quarterback, then moves to receiver. He has rushed for 543 yards and four touchdowns, caught 26 passes for 524 yards and nine touchdowns and completed 47 of 80 passes for 843 yards and six scores, with three interceptions.

"About the only thing Gerell hasn't done is thrown a pass to Gerell," Belles said.

Gerrell was honored at the halftime of yesterday's Arizona Cardinals/Cleveland Browns game as being one of two Arizona players to be selected to the Army All-American Bowl.

As he was walking by our seats (I scored some from work on a trial I'm doing out here in Phoenix and wanted to see the new stadium) I yelled "Go to Notre Dame!" He smiled and flashed the peace sign.

I feel like I've done my part to contribute to Charlie's recruiting efforts.
